I was thinking are they just going to blow the tower to take it down? They getting really close to it for sure!
The new tower parts are still spread out in the weeds over by the Honda shop...hope they don't do something rash!

Well now, we have activity in those weeds by the Honda shop!
To the left of the 'Wide Load' sign on the bumper someone has started opening the cartons of hardware. Along the skyline above the low-boy two drill rigs are busy on a lower slope than previous blasts.
Over to the right another drill is working on a rib of rock and to the right of that there are several boulders lined up. Wonder if those will end up 'decorating' the lot in front of the building.

The new field of splotches...guess they'll have to move the Porta-John! Also note the Austin Powder truck is up where the drills were working yesterday.

They also started running the Cone Crusher today...it does sort by size and even dumps the oversized rocks off to the side before going into the crusher jaws.

I was also over there today when they did another blast on the far right side, but didn't try for a vid...rain was coming in with lots of thunder and lightning!

A lot more drilling in the area of the Porta-John...and it's still there for now!

Those recent splotches were loaded with powder from this truck instead of out of paper bags.

Later tonight I went by and noticed they had a huge extension-hoist boom truck and the same low-boy from earlier up on the hill by the *old* tower!

There was a powerful thunderstorm here last night after they moved the control room from the old site to the new...lightning strikes nearby (messed up my DirecTV custom guide channels?) , tremendous thunder claps and gully-washer rain. Much work going on this morning patching washed out service roads the dump trucks use to move rubble down from the top.
There was a small blast about 10 am on the south shoulder out of sight from my usual observation spots. They've started pushing over more trees to the left of the remaining white splotches not set off when they did the shot near the Porta-John.
The Cam Com guys were busy today sorting out the cartons of hardware in the weeds by the Honda shop...the rain really messed up the cardboard cartons.

Sunday morning on my way for a breakfast burrito, noticed the Cam Com crew loading up tower parts. I stopped for pics and met their President and learned more about the tower construction procedures. Also had the opportunity to follow them up to the new site to watch the first 3 legs being installed.

While watching the crew load material by the Honda shop, I noticed someone was climbing the old tower. It wasn't someone from the Cam Com crew...must have been maintenance/inspection work after the big thunder storm. Sorry for the blurry zoom shots.
