Finally dry enough to reach my spot overlooking the wall construction. The wall crew has spread 8 mats in the curved corner, Baker crew have 1 spread on the next level up and are using regular rock fill on the level above that.

Rather than use zip ties to hold the mats together, the wall crew just sprinkle small aggregate from the bobcat bucket as it backs up.

Not nearly such tight quarters down there now...trucks can maneuver easily...but they have to remember to use the CB both ways on that hill.

The crews have been doing a number of field trials on compaction for a re-design of the wall construction, and while waiting for those decisions have moved back to the area behind the Honda shop.

 

The perimeter of the western Detention Pond has been shaped and top soil is being placed.

The city has finally sold the Revenue Bonds for funding the balance of the project and have announced that Cabela's construction will begin December 1st. The retaining wall re-construction continues and the water supply line for the construction phase has been completed.

The Vannoy rep met with the local power utility folks on-site today, construction power was brought in last fall and they'll start some distribution lines soon.
