I went back through earlier photos to see if I could find one that showed that same PortaJohn on the full sized hill (apparently the PortaJohn came along after the tower was dropped). This was taken Oct. 15th, 2013.

Today Austin had charges set in several of the large boulders that had been exposed east of the Honda shot...not large charges to ensure no flying fragments. (The vid and both pics via my Moto X.)

The last shot to loosen material above the finished grade for the project. Might be several shots on 'hard spots' here and there, but the big stuff is done.

Yesterday was busy on the south side of the remaining hill - rubber tired bucket loader on the left headed back for more 4" fill from the grading rack, excavator to load trucks in the middle, dozer moving fill to him and a hammer breaking rock on the right.

While sitting in the car up on the flattened top of the hill this morning it occurred to me that a video pan of the project progress might be of interest, soooo...
(The usual disclaimers about me being a crappy camera guy definitely apply!)

Since there were trees behind the GPS equipped dozer in the panning video, thought I'd post a clearer pic showing the supports on both sides of the blade and the sensors on the top of each.
And then I became fascinated with his efforts to dislodge the upper section and started taking videos with m Moto X...and took vids...and took vids...and went on the other side to take more vids...and more vids...Ended up with 16 of them and since it's very easy to upload from the Moto X to YouTube and then to post them here...8 of them on this post then another post with the other 8.
Skip 'em, if'n you want...
Edit: Whhooopps!...too many gigs on one post? Three more moved to next the post.

This last one is a little long!
After that video, Johnny managed to get the big chunk rotated while it was laying flat and it over-balanced on the edge and disappeared on the other side. Not very dramatic!
So now it's after lunch and Johnny and Lewis have moved to the pit east of Honda...
These are the big rocks that were cracked by the shot where the Austin folks tamped the area with 5 or 6 loads of clay on top...Peanut and his excavator hard at work...

Two shots today and I was even able to video both of them after rushing around some. The first is alongside the freeway where the Lowes retaining wall goes.
And the second is east of Honda again where they're cutting through and around the hill for the access road.
