Sam, what is this error for RSD lite?
Failed flashing process.  5/24 oem fb_mode_set-->phone returns FAIL

--TRYING to FXZ to totally stock JB
RSD lite 6.1.4?  it is 6 something.  Never saw an RSD FXZ fail like this.  I did push the preinstall and system from 246 to get phone UP after the BS fail.  Then installed JB update file off SD card.  Was trying to go absolutely stock.

What you were told about the xml is correct. Or you can try to get rsd 6.15 and see if that works. Or you can, you know, use the house of bionic and avoid stupid issues like this. Lol :)

Dan, on behalf of the entire Bionic community we thank you. I sent my promised $10 donation. I was able to save root when I updated, so I may never *need* to use this, and my Bionic is "semi-retired". I might just have to test this out for $hitS and giggles :D .

You two with the adb missing errors... I don't believe you when you say you're running 32 bit Linux. :) please double check and make sure you grabbed the right one. Don't just assume. Thanks!

I got 6 hours of sleep last night. Lol. And I'm still in bed now. But I promised Dan that when he released the exploit that I'd do as much tech support to help those that are having trouble as I could.

SamuriHL, your doing a great job. I've seen some of the best people ever on these android forums. I wish the rest of the world would take a lesson from you guys on how to help others without being asked.

Process completed "successfully". Root checker says otherwise. Opened superuser to update binary and I get an error. Any ideas? Thanks.

Those that say it was completed successfully but don't have root please run the following commands and paste the output.

sudo ./adb.linux shell ls -l /system/bin/su*
sudo ./adb.linux shell ls -l /system/xbin/su*

so now i switched to 32bit version and it stops here:

ubuntu@ubuntu:/tmp/share$ gksu gedit /etc/udev/rules.d/51-android.rules
ubuntu@ubuntu:/tmp/share$ ./run.sh
[+] Waiting for device...
* daemon not running. starting it now on port 5037 *
* daemon started successfully *

any advice???

i usally use windows that's why i'm new to Linux. So when i type ./adb.linux devices

it says me only : List of devices attached

What i know it means that adb did not detect my phone... yes usb-debugging is switched on. So any advice

Are you running from a live cd or a vm? I run in a vm and have to tell the vm to take control of the bionic from the host.

Just letting your readers know that this method is also compatible with the Razr V - XT885. I've just rooted my phone which was running the Australian OTA 4.1.2 build.

Thanks for all the hard work that went into this.

Used the red version you mentioned Sam. What do I open XML file with? Anyone have that XML file already done??? Lol. Can try hob knocking again when I get home today. The exploit ran once and still had no root. So Zi thought I would go fresh start anyway.

Wife was angry, "Thought it would take a few minutes!!!". VM issues, put on USB drive for live version, errors in that. Tried to repeat run scrips and phone simply reset. Version I dled said !386 and others said Amd. Thought it was 32 bit. thanks Sam for tips. Will check back later tonight. Always unforeseen circumstances;-)

The file share isn't connected.  This is a note to all running this....when you see /storage/rfs0/pwn: not found you were *NOT* successful and your samba share is NOT connected on the phone. You must fix that problem or it will never work.
