Okay, I'm stuck. I'm not boot looping, but all I can see is the Red Motorola Logo for about 30 seconds and then my screen goes black. I am unable to get into Fastboot as when I hold both volume buttons and the power buttons I see a quick green flash and then when I let go I get the Moto Logo for about 30 seconds. I've used RSD Lite before, but I am unable to seemingly get the phone long enough to connect to my computer via USB cable. Any ideas? BTW, my battery was at 90% when this happened, so I think I have a good battery charge.

Ok, while screen is black hold down button and power til you see the flicker of light and immediately hold both up and down and power and you should get to fastboot menu, works for me.

I've been at "Android is upgrading.... Starting applications" for at least 10 minutes now. Is this normal?

I was able to finally get her into AP Fastboot. Performing a restore using RSDLite currently.

Was the spinner still spinning? Because mine's not. It appears like it's locked up.

My phone is locked up at "Android is upgrading.... Starting Applications." It's been 30+ minutes now on this screen. Any suggestions?

Edit:

Nevermind I used ADB to reboot it. Seems to be working fine now.

cant wait to get home to try this. that is after i take my phone to verzion so they can flash me to stock. lol. my phone thought it would be cool and drain like 40% the battery durring a fastboot and it couldnt flash since it dropped to low. :/ i dont have the tools laying around to make a Moto Cable either. :/ lol

... That being said, this is what I did to successfully sideload the ics leak ...

Worked for me! Failed first time from my 'clean' .173 which I had prepped for the soak test. So I went back to .744 like you did and went from there. Got it to install just fine. First attempt at terminal restore of root didn't take. 2nd time it did. So now rocking ICS!

Thanks Vicious!!

I cannot get Rom Manager as an option when I press on the Zip file. It gives a list of options but none are Rom Manager. Any idea what I am doing wrong?

This may sound like a really dumb question, so I apologize in advance...

I understand that root is necessary to begin, but if I don't want root after, is voodoo necessary? To revert later, do I need root?

are you using es? and are you long pressing or tapping zip, should be just tapping it.

If you dont want root on ics you dont have to have it. But might come in handy later. Its up to you really.

That did the trick. I was using Root Explorer. Thanks.
