i was incredibly stupid and did this before i tried to do the flash. i saw on XDA that there is a way to dock but i needed to modify 2 files. i cannot find those files to fix. if anyone knows where or what the stock one is, id sure like that. i cant flash ics with it modded. it was a zip file so is there anyway back to before? or do i need to completely redo a RSD to .173? any help would be appreciated. i tried to find out at xda, but they would not let me register because our wifi is through verizon. the link to the XDA page where it says the two files are

Easy as pie to do this. I'm really liking how Motorola handled this update with its mix of custom and stock software. I'm very disappointed they decided to keep the Gallery and Music Player as awful as ever, but otherwise this is a fantastic look.

For those having trouble getting this thing to install, be sure to change the permissions on both of the files.....owner must have all the permissions checked. At least this worked for me.

Are we able to install customer launchers for this build? I have it up and running, I love it, I just need to be able to change the grid size so fit more than 4 rows of icons.

Guess I should have read above.....nevermind!

You can but long pressing on the screen the popup for widgets will show only icons and no description, holding your finger next to each icon you can then see the description and select the one you want.

i tried 3 times. i couldnt get it to work.

I tried more then 3 and the ONLY way I was able to get root was to start over using these steps from my last post. Don't skip anything.

My suggestion is to:

BE having at LEAST 70% Battery and have Moto drivers on your computer (Do a search, this is easy to find)>

Use RSD lite 5.6.4 to go back to .744>

Turn off phone and boot into Android Recovery (power up phone holding Power/Both Volume Buttons)>

Wipe Data/Cache and reboot phone>

Root Phone (I used Doomlord)>

Install Voodoo Root keeper>

in Voodoo Backup SU and Temp unroot>

OTA .748>

OTA .173>

Go into Voo Doo and Restore Root>

Boot into Android Recovery (power up phone holding both volume buttons) and do a FULL data/cache wipe (for good measure)>

Reinstall VooDoo Root Keeper>

Go into Superuser App and ensure the Su Binaries are up to date (Mine weren't, VERY important)>

Install Rom Manager and ES File (And NOTHING ELSE!!!)>

In VooDoo, Protect Root (DO NOT TEMP UNROOT)>

Plug phone into computer>

Move 2 ICS Files to SD card (the one without any CWM or SS back ups on it, the one with all your app folders)>

Open Rom Manager and give it Superuser permission, check the disclaimers box then close ROM Manager>

Go into ES file and make sure you have root access checked and mount /system as writable in ES File settings>

In ES File, Move the 2 ICS files from SD into /Cache>

Click the Zip ICS file>

Select open with Rom manager>

Allow phone to reboot (if you followed directions and have no traces of CWM or SS your phone should boot into Android Recovery>

Install>

After Phone Boots, go into VooDoo Root and hit Restore root>

(Optional) Download Terminal Emulator and run the commands from this thread (

Please Login or Register to see this Hidden Content

) If you find that you don't have root acess. (Voodoo will tell you that you do have root acess, but run a root app, such as Root Checker to ensure you do have root.

?????>

Profit!!!

I hope this helps, I tried to make this install list as idiot proof as possible. I had to install this update twice because of a few dumb mistakes that I did. So Good luck.

Here's my video that I did following most of the same steps. There have been a lot of questions regarding the installation at razrforums, so I thought a video demonstration might help.

I followed the video. It went thru the process but booted in GB.

A question about the renaming of files. When I downloaded from the hive, the only file that didnt have something different was the larger folder. I renamed it to .zip but the crc file was the same.

What did I do wrong?

cancel, it was the renaming that caused the issue. The update completed. But the CAMERA is not working.
