Attempted to update binary today (current version before/after is 3.0.3.2, SU v3.0.7(41) ), but I'm greeted with "downloading manifest.....FAIL".
DL'd SU update fixer, it can't find any problems, when I forced the update, it seemed to remove root until I DL'd SU from the market again.
Any ideas?

Has anyone else ran into a failed issue when updating the binary in SU? I got a replacement phone Saturday due to an epic fail of the battery (stopped charging after a full discharge), rooted the replacement via Motofail, backed up with Voodoo, installed ICS on Saturday. When I used TiBU to restore apps, it asked to correct an issue with SU which I allowed. That was after restoring root w/ Voodoo.

I just got this error last night and I am fresh stock rooted so I don't think it has anything to do with the leak or any rom that you may be running. If i happen to come across something that fixes it I'll let you know. Maybe someone here already knows how to correct the situation too.

I'll post up anything that I find out too- I'll check on the XDA thread to see if anybody there has experienced it and any suggestions.

I had tried what the OP suggested as far as terminal emuluator- had no problems there, but I still get the message when attempting to update the binaries.

Connection issue. Got it to work today.
Mine is a refurb that's had connectivity issues from a dig. Nothing like getting somebody elses rebuilt junk to replace a phone that's <2 months old.

What ended up working is:
1 Use RSD to go back to 744
Use Mot Recovery to factory reset
Use Mot Rec to install 748 patch
Use DRU to root
Update SU via market
Install Busybox via market
Install Voodoo via market
Update SU binaries
Backup with Voodoo
Use ES n RM to install ICS
Voodoo fails
Term works(finally on like the 5th different way I tried)

Followed this forum and it worked on one of my Razr Maxx's. On the second one I tried everything.

Not sure if you missed a step or not but you're supposed to be on .173 before installing
