I'm on the droid maxx and i used matts utility 1.51 to fastboot back to .173, and from there i rooted and used voodoo to protect my root, then i sideloaded ICS 6.14.75

And then I managed to get this to work, by using wifi on my phone and copying and pasting the commands in to the emulator one at a time,
After the second and third line nothing seemed to happen but i rebooted the phone like the instrunctions said and sure enough i had full root access!

I hope this helps.

Can I reach the conclusion here that Voodoo is not good when you go to leaks?

Voodoo works just fine for some people, but not for everyone. Which is why these terminal commands are needed.

Worked for me! I'm running Superuser v3.0.7 (41) and Su binary v3.0.3.2. typed in the commands exactly as shown, rebooted, and restored root. This has allowed me to use free wifi tether again, which before was showing that I didn't have root access.

Voodoo also did not work correctly for me, to restore root...that's what I tried originally, but it failed. This works like a charm.

For those of you who WERE rooted & protected root with Voodoo, installed the ICS leak & subsequently lost root like I did,

tweeted out some helpful instructions to remedy the issue!

Disclaimers:
I did not personally use this method - before it was available, I had already RSD'd. On my second time through the process, I successfully retained root. Therefore this was unneeded (for ME!) All credit goes to

I'm having the same exact issue, and I wish I wasn't at work so that I could run adb and stuff.
