The reason why 4.1.2 doesn't work is because this ROM is not made for 4.1.2 (as stated in the OP multiple times).

However, as I've also stated, I'm looking into moving this ROM over to the 4.1.2 base and when I do, I will include the kernel.

It was funny that I forgot to flash the boot img in the OP after I flashed the ROM and I went to a wedding trying to take pics and my camera wasn't working lol.. I got so giddy after I rebooted my phone to let ROM initialize that it slipped my mind. Thankfully I was able to revert back to stock quickly so I could take pictures. I guess what happened was that before I flashed the ROM I got the ota update. After I got back I backed up all my pics and reverted back to the ROM, rebooted, and flashed the boot.img and viola the camera worked... A total noob mistake lmao

Yup I was at a Bar Mitzvah when I made the unfortunate discovery lol

There is no kernel included in this ROM, you have to flash it separately. I don't know what method there is to do that because I don't even own this phone.

Just FYI, I flashed this over a restored Eclipse ROM and didn't flash the boot.img.  Everything worked fine.  If you are already running a stock ROM ( and don't wipe system), you don't need to flash the boot.img (well, I didn't need to anyway).

Steps:

1.  Boot to recovery

2.  Make sure system is mounted

3.  Wipe cache/dalvik

4.  FDR

5.  Re-boot recovery and mount system

6.  Go to "install" and choose Rage zip and flash

7.  wipe cache/dalvik again after flashing

8.  Re-boot

Notice, I said nothing about wiping system.  I think this is what's messing people up.  If you wipe and FDR, there's no need to wipe system.  When you wipe the system, then yes, you do need to flash boot.img.

I was under the impression that if you didn't wipe the system that you would be installing over the old system, apps and all, and that bloats and other apps would still be there?

You will only be using the boot.img and radios (I think).  Everything else comes as it is with the new ROM.  The new ROM will overwrite everything it needs to.  It's the same way on my tablet.  Since I've owned my tablet, I've installed many different ROMs, all without wiping system.  The installation instructions for installing ROMs on my tablet never mentioned wiping system, so I never did it.  I decided to give it a whirl on the phone, and it was the same.  Peaking around at other device forums on XDA, none of those ever mention wiping system.  Wiping system is the critical fault, I think.  When you do this, you get rid of everything.  That's why people were having troubles flashing new ROMs.  They were wiping everything.  Then, someone found out that flashing the boot.img will allow you to flash a ROM.  Well, if you don't wipe system, then the boot.img is still there.  Problem solved?  I'm not 100% sure, as I haven't attempted to flash any other ROM yet.  Later on tonight, I might backup my current ROM, and see if I'm able to flash the other ROMs, without wiping system.

This all sounds frightening for me coming from an HTC phone. Do I flash boot.img in fast boot?

I tried that method and yes, all the stock apps are still there, Can I just go into apps and delete the stock apps and load the Gapps that the OP has listed?

You should be able too, if not you may need to sideload to system/app

I just started over, wiped everything and flashed as in the OP, ROM flashed just fine.  And after seeing what the "debloated" apps are, I dont use any of them....So the rom should still run fine right? So far so good, getting ready to reinstall apps using TiBu
