RageHD is being updated to v1.2!!!!!!!!

 

 

Don't get too happy, it's a minor update!

I just got a notification from the Goo manager app. Can I proceed to download?

 

EDIT: Nevermind. The DL speeds are way too slow lol

I actually downloaded thru goo manager over 4G in about 10 minutes. Install seemed like it would've been seamless if my TWRP wasn't borked. Once I fixed TWRP, I just flashed Rage from there. Not sure yet what borked my recovery but I'm fairly certain it had nothing to do with goo or the ROM

Yes Sir, I am. Haven't noticed any real differences except for the lack of 4.2.2 camera. I will say, however, this thing seems a bunch faster and smoother than v1.1.Thanks for all you do and keep up the great work my friend!

No placebo effect here :) Whatever you did to the base really made a difference. Ive seen about a 10% increase across 3 different benchmark apps. So yes, Very cool B)

Basically all I did was deodex and zipalign the base, however, it seems like doing this with the Android Kitchen in Ubuntu may have streamlined the process. The whole process took about 20 minutes to deodex /system/app and /system/framework, usually in Windows this took a lot longer.

Good morning - observations - not critique!

 

I was expecting 10% improvement and better flow - I saw neither.  The behavior was the same, no issues at all, just the same.  My Quad scores actually went down.  I regularly pull 56-5800 on 1.1, and am getting about 51=5300 on 1.2.  I've not frozen everything I want to just yet, but I doubt freezing will give me 10% from what I was getting.

 

I like the camera in 1.2 better than 1.1 - is there an easy way to add it back?

 

No change to battery life, didn't run it long enough and I use Llama anyhow so I have 2 days battery normally.

 

I've tried some of the 4.2.2 roms out there - but I need tethering, data, etc so keep coming back to Rage.  I so happy with Rage and how fast / smooth if I try something else, I just peek then drop back.  Thank TWRP for backup / restore!

 

So, I have 1.2 sitting in backup right now, I'm back on 1.1.  Were the performance equal to 1.1, I'd make the jump up for sure (for the camera alone).  Should I just give it a few days to settle? [ note, the highest scores I ever got on Rage 1.1, was right after I loaded it up and before installing all my apps. ]

Might be a dumb question but, are you trying to flash from internal or external sd?

flashing from external. trying to update from v1.0. Maybe the download got corrupt?

might be a bad download, try redownloading. the update binary in all the roms/updates are fine :)
