I'm getting weird battery readings now. Battery just went from 40 to 5 after a reboot.

I followed the instructions in the OP to the letter. I even RSDed again and re-started from scratch, same result. If your going to tell me it's a bad download, can you please give me the MD5s because I downloaded the files 4 times and keep getting the same result...

I'm not quite sure why I put detailed instructions in parenthesis when people don't read them...
Mistakes happen no one is perfect ! LOL

It looks like the problem was that I was trying to install the leak from .744. I took the OTA to .173, re-rooted, re-updated binaries, re-protected root and the install worked after that.

I didn't realize it was a known issue... I've been on the leak since this thread started but i haven't checked the op in a while. i guess i haven't rebooted either lol.

It's popped up in the threads since day 1. Not a big deal. I just added the known issues yesterday so don't feel too bad about it

Might want to re-read that step 1. It says .744 or .173. That's what tripped me up

Install instructions step 2 specifies being on stock .173.
Step 1 should be more detailed. If you fastboot to .744, you have to upgrade to .748 (ota), then to .173(ota).

I'm starting to think that we were the soak test for this version of the update because they figured they could controlled how many people got it and then read the forms to see what we were having problems with. That is my conspiracy theory anyway. Think about it. To read all the posts you don't need an account or to register. The people that got the idea could have even been working for moto and told us how to install it. O.o

I was thinking the same thing but im not one to start spitting out conspiracy theories. I can only imagine how often they troll the forums to find out what we do and what the devs in here got working and whats not working.

I typo'd and that should read step 2. Regardless, it says "but are on an otherwise stock COMPLETELY UNMODIFIED installation of 173."

I've thought this for a long while on why they didn't bother to plug our hole as far as where we obtain leaks. Now that word spread far too wide because the method was shared a bit too publicly, I doubt we'll see as many leaks come out via that method.

Same issue is happening to me. I've made sure I'm on .173, rooted, updated binaries, protected root, es file explorer with root access and system writable enabled, and rom manager installed without clockworkmod installed.
Can't figure this out!
