I discharged the battery and the phone died. Is that normal? :lol:

Return to Moto for a replacement...it's defective! haha

Moved on to the LG G2 on VZW and lovin it!

I would like to thank all involved. I have ICS and it's running like a charm. After monkeying around with it for a few days and having the same problems as many on here I finally had time to really get to it today. I used Matt's utility (1.51) to go back to .173, re-root and install voodoo root keeper and then followed the op. I should add that I did a full factory/data/davlik wipe right after return to .173 stock. I had to use the terminal method to regain full root, but all is well now. As others have said, I think a clean start is essential if you are having any problems. I defrosted and changed all stubborn bloat from .bak to .apk and it still wouldn't work without the return to a clean .173.

Hi all,
I am using rom Razrx right now. Great rom. I am very interested on this ICS rom. I read a lot of this forum but not all 52 pages lol. What has been found out by this rom? I am experienced with rooting and romming with Droid 1 and now Droid Razr. I have never bricked my phone other then soft brick and used RSD Lite to get it back to normal to flash my recovery file. I am downloading the file right now and it is done lol. Is this the soak everyone was talking about. Also, I have a rooted backup of my stock unmodded 173. I see that I need to be on 173 for it to work. If I restore this back up and use Matts, onewhipetorulethemall, will that work? Also, what known problems will I run into that I should know or be aware of other then flash at your own risk, you been warned. Also, what about the hotspot on the phone in ICS? Will I be able to hack that one to to use it for free? I have a TB back up of it so I can restore it on other roms to use it. I can live with this rom no problem and I can wait too as well. I am sorry for any bang head to wall questions that have been ansered. I do thank you for anyone who is reading this and providing help.

Please follow the instructions in the OP. It is a proven, no fail method. Fast boot back to .173 then begin the process. You can do the SQLite hack on the mobile hotspot app to get it to work.

This ICS leak is NOT the soak test. The soak test is another Gingerbread build. Hope I answered all of your questions, if not just let me know.

It's perfectly fine installing the leak if you already have CWM installed it will get overwritten anyway. The reason the OP says not to install CWM from within the ROM Manager app is because it will try to install an older and non compatible version of CWM.

Well I had CWM installed and I deleted the app but ROM manager still recognized that as my recovery. So just fast booted back to .173 and started fresh. Install ROM manager but don't click on install CWM. And just follow the directions.

Even better now with DroidTh3ory's script! Although since installing it, I get lower Antutu Benchmark scores then I did without it.

^^ This. I'm waiting to dive in until I see a nice debloated, ready to go ROM based on the leak. There's already a theme for it... wheres the rom gods? :)

DroidTheory put out a mod for the leak that debloats and adds his tweaks.

Thought that was just speed tweaks, not a full on ROM and debloat?

It's not a full on ROM. It is worth checking out while you wait for a full ROM though.

The base on this is a bear. It might be a while before we see working ROMs pop up based on this kernel.

Used utility 1.4 to restore to stock .173, rooted it with that utility as well, saved root with rootkeeper followed instructions install went fine! Everything is working great got my root back and got wifi tether to work(let me know if anyone is interested). Camera both front and back work great. Only thing is the flash player is no longer supported for Android. I guess it still works on gingerbread. I suggest if you need help installing go to the chatbox and ask for help there, the guys will help u like they helped me :). Good luck. And much thanks to the developers!!


Could you please tell me how you got Wifi Tether to work? I keep getting an error at starting ad-hoc mode... Thanks.

. It de-bloates it keeping root and the MotoBlur feel. There was no need to do a full ROM flash either wihch was nice. Quick and easy install. That dude is amazing!
