Never mind Downloaded TB and says no root access. Oh well we will have a root path soon enough and i only root for roms and since this is new no roms are available yet.

How do you add a screen shot to this post. When I use Rootkeeper it says "Voodoo OTA Rootkeeper has been granted Superuser permissions."
Voodoo Root Keeper does not work. It only provides a temp root. As soon as you reboot, it's gone.

Were you able to get back to 173 with the proper radios and all that? If so, how?

Negative. It absolutely did work for me. I have full root access and I have rebooted my phone at least twice. Just rebooted again to test and I still have root. Went into root explorer, changed name and permissions of a system app in the system folder with w/r privileges.

Ok. I had the same issue with cheesecake just spinning while communicating with server and I finally figured it out. Using droidutility go back to stock .173. Then after you booted into it create and login with a motocast id. Then root, cheescake, select staging server and update. Is working for me, I am finally downloading the update.
This f*cking worked! I was growing impatient! I have been on this forum since Six this evening...

Well, my update failed after downloading and installing, just like some others. Trying again now.
If it's failing you must not be completely stock
I'm an idiot. It's been so long since I originally updated to .173, I forgot I froze some apps! Defrosted now, Downloading again.

Make sure you heed the moderator's warnings regarding Cheesecake though! Beyond this firmware, I would not use it except when there is some indication of reversibility, like what came about from arcane today.

Again - I'd rate this method at a moderate. So, if you're new to doing this and just want to do it for the ICS, cool your jets. The Devs have it and are working on it. But please understand it's a very temperamental and awkward method sometimes. Not to mention, I think this is the 12th time I've said data wipe - and it's still being asked. =\

im far from noobish... been around since my eris, droid x, bionic., and now razr.... but never had a reason or cause to cheese cake... im far from incompitent... im a electrician and built a one of a kind water cooled pc ( check out my profile pic) i guess im looking for a simple 5 or 6 short line step... i must be missing something to not get into the cheese cake server.... i open the cheesecake app and i pick staging 100 then click on check for updates then i get the motorola account thing... i have rsd twice tonight... im highly doubting that i have to do a data wipe after the rsd.... i may be wrong... feel free to correct me though if im worng.... no need to flame though...For those that are cheesecaking and not pulling the update. You may need to do another data wipe - it happens from time to time. Cheese cake is far from perfect, and like I've said time and time again, it's a method that's BEST avoided if you don't know what you're doing. There is a reason why we haven't widely talked about it here. So, again, if you're not getting the results you want, or don't know, it's best to avoid this method as A) it's a bit tedious B ) it is VERY time consuming and C ) it doesn't always work the same way every time (I myself had to do 3 data wipes).
