I would like to know the damage that cheescake can do to your phone...

The worst you're gonna do is brick your phone or be off the upgrade path....but since this file has been proven to be an excellent build of ICS, the only thing left is to be off the upgrade path which we won't know till "ICS" is technically released via Verizon on April 4th..i.e. this may not be the official version that verizon releases, but then again it could be

For Example...we had cheesecake leaks when i had the Droid Bionic
System Versions
5.5.893
5.6.893
5.7.893
5.8.xxx

All of those were found via cheesecake and after time passed the actual version released via Verizon officially was 5.5.893 and everyone on another version 5.6, 5.7, 5.8 were all off the upgrade path (and not able to fastboot back) and a tool had to be built by developers to help everyone get back on the upgrade path because fastboot files were not working...This file however for our RAZR is fastbootable so even if it is not the official release and some other version is released officially by Verizon, we can still fastboot back and just simply update the normal way (Settings/About/System Updates)

HOWEVER, FUTURE ICS (Cheesecake) UPDATES...have the potential to keep us from fastbooting such as the Droid Bionic example listed above where the first cheesecake was fastbootable, but the following updates were not and created many issues....until the Dev's came to we "Crackflashers" rescue

Yes, due to the new kernel, safestrap probably will not work.

quickest way to remove safestrap? if i just uninstall the app will it remove the recovery and everything?

and should i wipe data before i remove safestrap? i shouldn't have to do the whole RSD restore since i'm still "stock" right?

imo you're probably better off just doing the entire RSD. It takes like 15 min but its not that bad.

First and foremost, you REALLY have patience, I read 32 pages worth of this thread and I saw "what server" and "where is the CRC" roughly 30 times each (give or take). I didn't read the thread to use the Cheesecake method, b/c I actually heed the warnings of "If you don't know what it is, stay away from it." I'm frustrated with how long ICS has taken, but I'm not about to do 6 or 7 hours of work to get something that isn't even clear yet. You have some that get it, some that don't, some are rooted, some are not, etc. No tutorial, no clear absolute once-and-for-all explanation, so I'm straight on the update. However, I do wish to point out how impressive and amazing it is to see how this phone went from basically being ignored by devs when it first came out (I own the OG Razr) to now having every version leaked, tweaked, and available at a rapid pace. I'm not going to bother asking any questions cuz I'm sure as I keep reading on after the 32nd page, whatever question I have will probably be answered, just wanted to get a positive comment in this thread real quick.

I finally got it to work!
Beautifully amazing work! :-) I can't wait for ROMs based off of this ICS ^_^. I must say I'm impressed.

I actually haven't read the actual article since early bionic days....but I wonder if manual method of applying forever root through adb would work without having root on the device before hand?

It seems like this version of ICS is having the same touch issues as early IC3RAZR builds sometimes. Like, go download Running Fred from the Play Store and try to play it. Also Temple Run has the same problem (it's less evident though because there's nothing showing where you're touching)

Matt's tool works! I used it and now I have ICS! I went back to 173, root, and installed rootkeeper all with Matt's utility! Installed cheesecake and then rebooted, checked stag 100 server and whola update popped up! Installed and now I have ICS! So yes Matt's method works!

Damn all of you. I broke down and now running rooted ICS. I must say, very fluid and sexy. Excited to see what the devs will do with the official. Thanks for working out the bugs for me.

Did the all-caps "FAILED" give it away the first time, or the second? :P

I am rooted. Voodoo ota root keeper worked just fine for me. Used Rom toolbox to restore all of my user apps. I will upload a screenshot in a second if I can grab it at the right time.
