Can someone try FoxFi to see if it still works...it's wireless tethering for NON rooted phones. Seems right now several of you fall into this category.

It would really be helpful if someone would reply and help those of us not as lucky as the rest.

Thank you,
Jim

You shouldn't have to wait long. If it gets stuck on communicating with server then something is wrong. Try the different servers on the list or even try force closing cheesecake and retrying, even reboot your phone. That's how I was finally able to get it to work.

Here are the two files you'll need once Cheesecake recognizes you have an update available. Unrar these and then place the two files in your cache directory.

I'm sorry but besides trying other servers, there isn't a clear solution for that problem yet. Please wait for the other developers to release a simple update solution. DirtyDroidX mentioned he would have one in an hour but that was five hours ago.

All I am asking is how long you wait for a server to reply before trying another? 1 min? 1 hour?

Sorry, I was putting the kids to bed... Took me about a minute or less, and went through fine... So I would say 5 at the most

When I went to the server, the notification for the update was instant. If you are waiting for more than 10 seconds, switch servers.

Got it running and loving it but one thing they left out was a way to hide unused apps like the bloat.

Sorry. It shouldn't take very long. I'd say less than a minute before trying another. If it takes longer than a minute to reply, the download speed will probably be bad anyways.

Thanks. Every server first says I need to register for a Motorola account, first, did you get that?

If you long press (hold down) an app, and drag it to the top of the screen where it says "More options," It should popup with a dialog. Select Disable and it disappears.

I understand it needs to be done prior to the update but I just wanted to compare it to mine with the non-working su.

TO THOSE WITH ISSUES TRY THIS.... FLASH .173 STOCK THEN CHEK FOR UPDATES TWICE. ROOT YOUR PHONE AND CHECK TWICE AGAIN . BACKUP ROOT WITH VOODOO AND DO FOREVER ROOT METHOD. THEN INSTALL CHEESECAKE.APK . CHECK FOR UPDATE TWICE AND THEN FOLLOW THE CHEESECAKE METHOD BUT BEFORE REBOOT CHECK AGAIN FOR UPDATES TWICE. THEN REBOOT AND CHECK AGAIN LOL THEN CHANGE SERVER. that worked twice in a row for me so try it for those with cheesecake issues <3
