If this is an issue, you can fastboot back to stock to correct any changes that may have been made. To fastboot, and . Make sure you grab the files for the version you are currently on.Me too. I'm concerned I've hosed updates for my phone.

I would highly recommend not doing this. Those ROMs are made for using the previous version's kernel and files.anyone daring enough to try safestrap and install one of the ics roms ? ;D lol

no the factory reset is NOT needed. it optimizes the apps on startupI have used cheesecake and I am currently downloading the update (taking a while but I expected it to). I want to make sure if I install the update, that it will install by itself like a regular update and won't be any different than if we had gotten it to side load? I've read all of the 20 pages and didn't see a clear answer on this. Also, do I really need to do a backup? Does installing the update delete my text, call logs etc. Thanks.
