Let me talk to a few tomorrow, I'll ask a few friends to see if we can get something working with SS and at least get you a rom maybe?

Well, you could install safestrap and an older rom based on stock like Rage. I prefer aosp or aokp but no dice on safestrap.

Lol, I know what you mean. It is a love/hate relationship with my Moto. If anyone finds a way to unlock, we will have to send Christmas early!

We would need more information that what you posted, but the message is pretty clear, you already have the superuser app on your phone.

Build info from Settings - About Phone

What you did prior to running Motochopper, since you already have the su app on the phone.

Superuser app was installed on one of the previous attempts. I've tried removing and running Motochopper again, but with the same result. Here is the info:

9.18.79.XT926.Verizon.en.HD

DROID RAZR MAXX HD

Android 4.1.2

VANQUISH_BP_100730.160.64.15P

3.0.31-g101ca72 KERNEL ver

Build 9.8.1Q-79

Please let me know if i missed anything.

Thank you.

Two things...first, you need to use the updated Motochopper since you're on the latest update.  Second, you will also likely want to read the instructions about adding a system.img file to the system dir in the new Motochopper to clean up your old superuser install and give you a completely fresh start.

I opened the batch file, changed the superuser.apk line to read "adb install -r Superuser.apk" and it ran swimmingly.

The -r option stands for replace. :)

Wondering if the -r option would install the app if it did NOT exist, in which case we could modify the script to include the -r so it would work either way.....

just a thought

Version of Android is?  Don't say 4.1.2.  I need the full system build number.

Yea, well, this isn't going to work on that version.  You need motochopper 1.3.  And you can't unlock.

Hi guys, new MAXX HD owner here.

Nutshell history: Had a RAZR MAXX (not HD) that I enjoyed for 1 1/2 years, then the charging port died. vZ sent me 2 defective refurb replacements, then finally, what looks to be a brand new MAXX HD. Happy about that, but fearing it's updated too far to root/unlock. Been rooting and flashing all the way back to the OG Droid days.

System version:  9.2.1.XT926.Verizon.en.US

Build number: 9.8.1Q-79-1

(4.1.2)

Am I out of luck? I can live without the unlocked bootloader, since my original RAZR was locked down, but PLEASE don't tell me I'm screwed for rooting. That would be a disaster.  Thanks guys!

I believe you are missing a Zero after the 2 in your sys version. You cannot unlock but can still root.

Thanks, Memnoch.

Oops, you're right. It's 9.20.1.XT926.

So the Motochopper 1.3 should work, even though it's for 9.18.79?

I got all excited when I saw that I had been shipped the HD version, remembering that you guys had cracked the bootloader... but it was short lived when I got over to the HD forum. Oh well. Looks like lots of us are in that boat.
