Even though you are on Verizon which is CDMA, leaving it on the GSM only will work, Making calls and using data will work just fine on it?

Yes I leave it there and get 4G everytime and have no trouble getting calls, email, texts or anything. For me, when I switched it back to GSM/CDMA I was having more issues. You'll notice when you reboot, it automatically goes back to gsm/cdma. I change it to GSM only and get all my data. Not sure why, but I get data back every single time doing it this way.

Attention, to any and all users running the leak, or are familiar with running the leak, and are looking for a better ICS experience. .. check out BW ROM for the leak! Everything should be explained in the OP, and as always, Enjoy the Darkness!

If you are unfamiliar with side loading the leak, I suggest staying on GB ICS until Moto ICS is released.. just to keep it nice and simple, but for those who need video recording and all the other goodies, Dive in, and you do so At your OWN RISK!

Mine is exactly the same. After a reboot, I change the radio to 'GSM only (PRL)' and leave it. Then 4g/3g kicks in and everything works 100%.
If I lose data (go underground in a train or something) I do have to reboot and toggle the radio to get it back. But it takes less than a minute and is very consistent at getting data up and running again.

Overall, this is a VERY functional ICS ROM.

Side note, is there an easy way to de-black my Gmail? I find it kind of hard to read/organize stuff when everything's monochrome. Thanks!

I would just like to say I am really loving this rom. It's the best rom I've had yet. I flashed blue widow and the big ics keyboard with the blue outline. Data issue is easy. If you downloaded build 36, you can just drag the app called phone setting to one of your home screens instead of typing out *#*#4636#*#* I don't let my phone reboot if I can help it, but if it does this gets data every time. Before you reboot, go into the phone settings app or dial the *#*# 4636#*#* Set it to gsm only. Reboot the phone. Go into safestrap. Wipe cache. Wipe dalvik. Reboot. Since you wiped dalvik it will say android is upgrading. The phone will load up. Dont be afraid to go ahead and unlock it.The antenna will change around a little. It will either have two gray bars or all black. When it does, go to phone setting app again or dial *#*#4636#*#* Go to phone settings and change to gsm only. Boom data is back in 3g or 4g and will turn blue. I have a cdma phone on verizon, but I do NOT change it back to gsm/cdma like others suggest. When you reboot the phone does that automatically. So theres my story. Happy flashing!

This works really well for me too. Been using this method only about an day or so but seems to hold up well. Thanks for the tip.

So I did everything you said and did. But when I exit the phone info it automatically switches back to GSM/CDMA Auto(PRL) and wont stay selected on GSM Only. Any suggestions on how to make it stay.

heres my way.. explained in the OP.

LTE Connection on boot is in-progress, you might need to toggle from "GSM-only" to "GSM/CDMA auto (PRL)" in Phone Info ( shown on

) *use this method anytime needed!* If you cant get data through this method, [reboot into Recovery and Wipe Cache partition and Dalvik cache, then reboot] Phone Info method isnt just about toggling, its all about timing!*

take a look at the thread.... everything is explained

*edit* and if your not talking about the leak, then yes, you just follow the directions given in the OP, when flashing any rom, it doesnt matter what rom you are previously running, it only matters on What system version you are running and the ROM was built off. in this case, you need to be on .173 - .181, and you are fine to just download the rom, move to sd, wipe (whats listed in OP) and flash... just follow the directions in OP

So my first ROM flash went pretty well. Black Widow 4.0.4... Great Job andlaw!!! Love it!! Used Bootstrap 2.0 and persistent ClockWorkMod Recovery(well worth booting twice, saved my butt a couple times). Installed BW 3 times. First time just couldn't get 4G just 3G, also I was just seeing if I could do it and then do Nandroid restore. Second time messed it up(my fault) and caught in an error msg loop after boot(YAY Fastboot AP into recovery :-) Third time....butta. Like a good steak off the grill, let it rest before starting setup. Give the Ghosts in the Machine time to settle in. This was last night and running smoothly at 4G ever since. Flashed DarkGapps but didn't seem to take so will try again tonght.

My phone:
RAZR 6.12.181
Gingerbread 2.3.6

Also thanks to mattlgroff for Droid RAZR Utility 1.6 Wish I had found it sooner. Did use it to flash Boostrap and will use it to Fastboot back to .181 when/if necessary. Very handy.

not to mention, DarkGapps is only for PLAY and TALK. gmail is already blacked out when installing the rom, along with everything else., thats why it is Optional to flash DarkGapps after you boot up and set up your phone, because its only Google Play and GTtalk. shooooots! B)
