as for the icons not being placed on the homescreen when the market downloads your apps, you can go into Play settings, and Auto-add widgets (is check marked) ...... not sure why they wouldnt have because this setting is usually on by default, the first thing i do when i flash a ROM is go into play and go into settings and uncheck it so all the apps it downloads dont appear on the homescreen.

Thanks, I am not too worried about it, i take them off the homescreen anyways

I tried using Netflix today and I get audio but no video???

I tried flashing this the other day, but ran into a problem. Im not new to custom ROMs, but Im not an expert either. I followed all the directions to the letter: made a backup, wiped the proper partitions, and installed the zip. It all worked great, but here's where the problem starts. When I hit "reboot system now" (using safestrap btw), the dual core screen comes up as expected, but then it goes black. After about 30 minutes, it was still black. Nothing I did would turn it off. As a last resort, I popped the back off and shorted the battery. This turned it off and let me boot into safestrap so I could install my backup.

Any idea what could be causing this? This ROM looks gorgeous and I would love to sink my teeth into it.

Alright guys here is another BOOT LOGO that will replace the M-dual core print. You will need a computer for this task!!

this is what you will now see on boot.

so i was kinda bored, I rebooted my phone and data didn't connect so I've decided to show you all the easiest way to get your data back if it doesn't connect to the network on boot! This method will work 9/10 times, if it doesn't happen to work, simply reboot into Recovery, wipe cache partition, wipe dalvik cache, reboot system.

Quick toggle method available on

Droid Razr of course

only reason I ask is because u said u removed the back to the phone and pulled the battery.... which to reset the razr you hold power and volume down together.

as for the problem with the rom, it sounds like you were either on the wrong system version, and/or md5 didnt match. you might try re-downloading (check the md5), and making sure your on 173 and using safestrap.

Yes, I tried all that. It wasn't turning off no matter what I did..lol.
But we figured out the problem. The good people in live chat told me to check my safestrap version to see if it was up to date, and sure enough it was not. After updating it, it flashed normally and I'm happily enjoying ICS :)

Video playback is a known error of all current ics roms.

*File update* Custom Launcher Icons (seen in screenshot #2 (OP), 3 custom wallpapers, and my Apex Launcher 'back-ups' for apex/desktop settings can be downloaded from

! This does Not get flashed in recovery!!! simply download and extract! you can place the images in your sdcard/download, and apex backups will go in your sdcard/android/data/apexlauncher (if this directory doesn't exist, create it, or go into Apex settings, create a backup... and the directory will be made)

Thanks for this great rom. I used it for a while but had to many issues. My data would drop pretty consistantly even after doing the method you listed above. I ended up flashing back to 173. I loved this rom and wish it was more reliable on my phone. Thanks again!!

I believe there are a few GSM users running this rom atm. You might have to flash my previous build tho, as the new one only works with safestrap.

You must flash the Black Widow 4.0.4.zip in OP, when use the GSM-Patch. Works great on my Xt910.

its found in the OP. ROM-BlackWidowICS_4.0.4.zip (make sure to follow directions)!!!!!!!!!!
so your going to flash the ROM, then GSM patch, then Gapps-ics-20120317, reboot your system, do device setup, open google play and update gmail, then go back into recovery and wipe cache and dalvik and flash gappsdark. again, Directions are in the OP and i suggest to follow them for best results.
