I donated even though this doesn't work on the Bionic. I appreciate the work anyway.

Ditto. Anyone who's done as much as he has for the community is more than deserving of it. Now if we could ever talk you into setting up a donation account...

How long does it take for the batch file to run? I've been sitting at the same line *daemon started successfully* for 40 minutes now. My phone is in debugging and plugged in USB.

ADB isn't finding your phone. Tons of reasons for that to possibly happen. You'll need to troubleshoot it.

This caps off an amazing resume. Dan could stroll up to any security firm anywhere, hand them a thumb drive with these exploits, and then get a job right on the spot. The tactics used here are incredible, and I don't even know a thing about programming. He's made a laughing stock out of Motorola and Verizon for the past 2 years and it's been awesome.

I donated even though this doesn't work on the Bionic. I appreciate the work anyway.

If this also roots the JB OTA coming for the Bionic I will laugh until I pass out.

Dan, as one who has benefited greatly from your hard work on these Moto devices I cannot thank you enough. I have been able to enjoy the use of my phones as I see fit simply because your work has allowed me to. Now I am truly in awe as you have accomplished the bootloader unlock that we all thought was impossible. You have made my decision to stick with Moto and get the MAXX HD completely worth it. THANK YOU! I wish you the best in all your future endeavors.

I say we just officially dub the process of rooting a device "Rosenberg-ing" it, as the name is essentially synonymous with the process. A zillion times over, thank you, most kind sir. As a community, we are greatly appreciative and humbled.

This doesn't seem to work on mac. I execute the run.sh, the warning and prompt to root come up, and then:

[*]

Also, I'm using terminal for the first time, I admit it, but seriously what the hell?

admins-imac:~ erik$ cd'/Users/erik/Desktop/motochopper '

Moth1996 - [This doesn't seem to work on mac. I execute the run.sh, the warning and prompt to root come up, and then:]

You don't appear to be in the right directory, or maybe you are, but the adb files are in a different folder. I haven't looked at the exploit file, and if it doesn't have the adb.osx files from the SDK, then you need them in order for the shell commands to actually execute. I suggest you download the most recent 'Matt Utility' from the XT912 Development forum, and unzip the folder to your desktop, then run the exploit file from that folder so that ./adb.osx will be present and also will be found by the computer and executed (the command ./adb.osx is only recognizable if run from the folder in which it's located). Not sure what the bottom error messages relate to, except that cd should have a space after it, and then either ~/----/-----/-----, using "~" to signify home folder, or just a / to start, for root, though I don't recommend that you run shell commands from the root folder - many are too similar to Mac commands and you can quickly mess things up. A quick primer on ADB and folder structure is in the former utility instructions, which you can find here:

. Good luck.

"I don't know how to get it to work" != "it doesn't work". :P

The instructions say you need to change directories to the extracted folder. In your case:

$ cd /Users/erik/Desktop/motochopper
$ ./run.sh
