BS!!!! Try rooting a Razr Maxx XT908. When you figure that one out, please let me know.

Well, considering this solution isn't FOR that phone.....

When it gets stuck there that means the computer doesn't see the phone the way it should - cable, USB port, debugging mode......etc.

You need to open terminal CD to/the/proper/directory
Then chmod +x run.sh

Then it should execute instead of open in text editor...:)

after i download the zip file and extract it to my desktop via Winrar, the only file i can open is the adb application and a black box with white letters pops up and after it flies thru all the info scrolling downward (so fast i cant read a thing), it just closes itself and nothing happens... i see the run.sh file but cant execute it and ii have the latest device drivers for motorola installed. please help!

Im using a Motorola Droid Razr Maxx HD with Verizon

Running Jellybean 4.1.2

I had this problem last week.  I couldn't get the files to unzip properly.  Downloaded again this morning & it unzipped fine.  Ran perfectly & I'm now rooted!  @djrbliss is indeed, a root god!!

This doesn't support the OG Razr or Razr Maxx, but I'm not sure why you'd bother trying, since you can already root with Razr Blade:

I am also new to this but I get the same error. not sure what else to do please help

My phone gets stuck at the daemon started successfully part can anyone help me im running lg spectrum 2

While this exploit IS designed to root devices with a Snapdragon MSM8960 CPU, it appears that it's not receiving any communication from your device. Which is most likely a computer driver issue.

You may need to re install the LG driver package.... then make sure USB debugging and stay awake while charging are both enabled.... I just used this on a spectrum 2 :)

Unlocking bootloader is a completely different animal...:)...... AFAIK this is only a root exploit .... not an unlock tool.....:)

But I thought that this must have anything to do with that too :(

"Since then, I've rooted every major Motorola device that's been released, including the Bionic, Razr (multiple times), Droid 4, Xoom 2, Atrix HD (multiple times), Razr HD, and Razr M. With the release of this exploit, every major Motorola device in existence has a viable public root method, and the most recent models now have an unlocked bootloader."

Well, it does have to do with it because you have to root to unlock.

We have our own thread for bootloader unlocking.

Please Login or Register to see this Hidden Content

You need root first, but then Motoapocalypse is the exploit to unlock the bootloader.  If you've taken the latest updates on the M or HD, the window of opportunity to unlock is closed.

Here, even easier. If you're already rooted, install this app that Mattlgroff made.

It automates the unlocking process. Just install, run and click unlock. You're done then. Unlocked for good :)
