No, this is for root only.  You need motoapocalypse for the bootloader unlock.

Hi there! quick question... this tool will unlock my bootloader?

This only roots your device. motopocalypse exploit is for the boot loader. But I think you can unlock the gsm devices through Motorola.

Thank you guys! and yes you are right shane1, you can unlock the bootloader through motorola but they will immediately void your warranty so I don't want that... I mean I don't want they know what i did!  :p

Moto will only unlock a device that was purchased as a Dev edition and registered as such, so this was your only choice.

I would assume so, but if someone bought a Dev edition, chances are they unlocked it through Moto after they bought it.  I know I did, but I waited a couple weeks before I did to make sure there were no mechanical issues.  I for one would not buy a Dev edition HD at this point.  The only advantage I have is if an OTA comes along with fix of some sort, I have nothing to worry about- but blowing the e-fuse can't be undone, so I have no idea how they could- but I wouldn't rule that out.

NO - Motochopper is the Root exploit for the Razr HD, Razr Maxx HD, Atrix HD, Photon Q, and Razr M

Motoapocalypse is the boot loader Unlock for the Razr HD, Razr Maxx HD, Atrix HD, Photon Q, and Razr M

Let's not get this thread confused - This is the root exploit thread

It fails after install Superuser.apk. I'm pretty familiar with linux but I don't understand why for whatever reason it cannot do the next line of code.  "adb shell /data/local/tmp/pwn"  it fails here and when I try it line by line manually it  gives me a bash error.  Any ideas?

The tool walks you through step by step and tells you what to do. Just follow its instructions and you'll be good to go.

Many Thanks this worked like a charm. Now I have root and can move some of those big programs to the external SD card. I used Clean Master to move some of those large programs to the external SD card. This made a big difference in my phone I was limited to how many programs I could install and was having to uninstall some to free up space. Obtaining root helped to move large files and speed up the phone even more. Use setcpu to adjust the speed and SD boost to speed up access to SD card.

I'm not sure, but have you tried motoshare2 on the XT908?
