Great thanks! So once I flash the TWRP do I have to reflash the ROM? Does this mess up my SS slots?
There are no more slots, SS is gone you will be reflashing and starting over

Yeah I read through the first one but it didnt really have the answer. It says you keep SS while vtwin says it will get erased once you flash@curtdragon I would suggest that you visit these threads and take a read through

thank you for clearing the post I made upOnce you flash twrp, everything will be as it was before. It only changes moto stock recovery. you will stay with ss and your slot ROMs and you will boot normally as nothing happened. But if you flash a ROM via TWRP, your ss will be gone and everything that was there.

Make sure SS is uninstalled for good measure.
From a power off state, hold PWR & VOL+. This enters the boot menu.
Press VOL- to highlight Recovery.
Press VOL+ to select.
You should see TWRP. Flash as you normally would in SS. I flashed CM 10.1 after wiping Cache, Dalvik, Data, System. If you are flashing a rom without a kernel, (most retail version roms) you need to flash ICS, root, and upgrade through to the right version, either 411 or 412.
Dev edition roms supply kernels.
Hope this helps!

I know for any SS ROMs one has to mount system before flashing. Can anyone verify if all the SS ROMs are working properly after unlocking and flashing?
From what I was told by
all roms are tested and working

OK so because ss ROMs did not include a kernel if you flash the old cm10.1 build which will flash a new modified kernel you can not then go back and flash a ss ROM over this ?
I was told you should keep a backup from twrp or cwm of a stock ROM because those two recoveries will backup and restore your stock kernel
This sound about right?

What kernel and what ROM are you trying to get on?
Standard procedure is to flash the ROM then kernel.

I figured I'd just throw that out there Cuz I'm sure a ton of people are gonna wanna jump on the 10.1 build and maybe not like and try to flash a ss ROM back over that.

I thought I uninstalled SS via andriod, but when I boot up I still see the little robot guy and options to run SS. So how do I fully uninstall it? haha. sorry for the dumb question.
And yes I have TWRP installed and working.
boot to stock rom, remove SS APK. remove SS from sdcard keeping back ups if you want them
