I was wondering, what are the best settings to use with this kernel? Also, not sure if it matters, but I'm running seeder, too.

1) I have a unlocked and rooted XT926.
2) I have Team Win boot loader installed.
Question:
What are the complete steps to backup what I am running now and flash a different ROM and still be able to reflash the current ROM back on my phone?
Thanks.

boot into twrp, hit backup, give it a name, tell it where to create the file and swipe to backup.
then wipe, use the default, then install second rom.
to switch, backup current rom as above, then wipe, then restore and you should be good.
its pretty straightforward and easy.

not if you set it to be saved on your external sdcard

Sorry that "wiped" on my previous post should have been "not wiped".
So I am looking at Root Explorer and I see a ROOT short cut on the left and STORAGE on the right and indicates a sdcard0 device.
Is this the external sdcard? If I save a backup on this area will it endure though a wipe?
Thanks.

So in Root Explorer I can locate and create a directory on sdcard1 but in TWRP I cannot seem to address sdcard to place a backup on it.
Any ideas?
Thanks.

The only two options I am offered is Internal Storage and external_sd.
external_sd is not selectable.
Does a XT926 have an external sdcard? If not what does one do use SafeStrap?
Mysterious!
Thanks as always.

I tried to set the permissions in Root Explorer but I will have to wait until I get home as I am at work right now and that pesky work is getting in the way. I will let all know what happens here with a posting.
Thanks everybody for helping!

I was getting frustrated searching on google for an answer to this. Then I decided to check the device manual. Come to find out what I was mistaking for the sdcard is actually the SIM card and the phone does not have an sdcard in it.
Doh!!!

It seems from my tests that there is only a slight signal difference between the 4.1.2 and 4.3 roms, and this is within margin of error so I don't really count it as a reliable result. The only interesting thing I noticed was that my SIM carrier changed when I flashed the 4.3 rom, and the cell i was connected to changed as well. Does anyone have anything they can tell me about this?
The only other thing I need to test is my signal strength on the latest Stock Rom available for my device from Verizon. Where can I download this?
Download all firmwares here :
Interesting data. Thanks for posting. That SIM operator change worries me slightly. Maybe Verizon QoS degrades non Verizon SIMs?
I noticed more significant signal strength issues with anything but 4.1.2. To the point of actually losing data. I haven't had a chance to compare scientifically in the exact spots yet. I've actually gone back to the debloated/rooted version of a stock 4.1.2 ROM. Everything just freaking works with no issue.
