No idea if this will help anyone. I have the Dev Edition, when I first installed TWRP I didn't rename any files at all.
I installed TWRP, booted into recovery, made a backup and rebooted. Never any issues.

OK. I ran v2 one more time (latest version you supplied). I haven't changed anything since the failed attempts before. CWM is now loaded, but get this. It loads CWM whether I choose option 1, 2 or 3 of the V2 batch. I'll take it, but WTF!?

V2 failed for me too! Got the red exclaimtion droid.

Just did this in fastboot mode:

C:\Users\Axem\Downloads>fastboot flash recovery twrp-2.5.0.0-recovery-vanquish.img

And that worked just fine after downloading the TWRP file and Fastboot files from

OK, I pushed TWRP manually with no issues. Super easy. Thanks for the links for manual install and troubleshooting. You guys rock.

And thanks to tucstwo for the 1-click.

This may help you guys but I is the TWRP in that thread the 2.5.0.0 that Hash posted up tonight?

Yup it is. It wasnt at his site when I tried the tools you posted. I saw it after I decided do it manually, and just chose the newest one.

So, from what I can tell by reading this thread, what I'm seeing hasn't been reported. When I run the bat file, select TWPR and then hit enter I get the following:

Connecting to your phone
Let's Do this
rm failed for /system/etc/install-recovery.sh, No such file or directory
cannot stat 'twrprecovery.img': No such file or directory
/data/local/tmp/twrprecovery.img: cannot open for read: No such file or director
y
rm failed for /data/local/tmp/twrprecovery.img, No such file or directory
Complete
Press any key to continue . . .

And end up with the Android/Exclamation ......any thoughts?

Thanks for the suggestion but this is the second time I've downloaded it and the MD5 checked out both times. The img files are there I checked.

Are you extracting the zip file before running the .bat file? If so maybe try to run the bat as administrator.
Is the twrprecovery.img there after extracting the zip?

Yep, extracted, tried moving the folder to the root of my C drive and shortening the name, and running the bat as Administrator - all resulted in the error I posted.

Hey tucstwo, in V2 (which is the file I checked) there are a few things you'll want to change in the run.bat:

Each "dd" line (something like this):
adb shell "su -c 'dd if=/data/local/tmp/twrprecovery.img of=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/twrprecovery' "

Needs the of=___ portion edited to be:
adb shell "su -c 'dd if=/data/local/tmp/twrprecovery.img of=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/recovery' "

(there's no partition named "twrprecovery", only "recovery")

I think there's 3 total lines in the script which need that fix:
#38: adb shell "su -c 'dd if=/data/local/tmp/twrprecovery.img of=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/twrprecovery' "
#53: adb shell "su -c 'dd if=/data/local/tmp/cwmrecovery.img of=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/cwmrecovery' "
#67: adb shell "su -c 'dd if=/data/local/tmp/motorecovery.img of=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/motorecovery' "

GL.

Tried v2 with no luck -- same as others (Android/Exclamation)

Originally had both install-recovery.sh and install-recovery.cfg files in /system/etc/. Changed the install-recovery.sh to install-recovery.sh.bak

xt926 consumer, rooted 4.1.2 OTA (no SS), unlocked bootloader

Wil try to push TWRP as per XDA and others posts above

[update] Successfully pushed TWRP via fastboot commands

Man oh golly............ between this thread and others, this is a feeding frenzy! I want to jump in the water for sure, but think I'll give it a day. I'm unlocked and ready to go when the water clears a bit. Sure if fun to read though and see what I can learn!

Net- this post adds no value. You've been warned!!!!! :)

Looks like he forgot to add fastboot.exe in the second zip, download the 1st link, and copy fastboot.exe into the V2, not sure if he has uploaded the .bat file yet also...
