It didnt happen to me I also have Note but some of the guys took the ota and it locked the bootloaders back up plus lost root the whole 9 yds. They were on stock rooted with twrp or cwm. If you were on a rom then you were protected.

I Think if your on a stock ROM but freeze some not needed system apps it won't install

I frooze the updater in TIBU hope that does it. Im in the middle of nowhere in Wis at my Cabin and for some reason data is flaky on all the roms except for stock. Its good in the cabin because Im on an extender but when I leave is when I have problems.

Is there a different TWRP out there? I show the one listed says v2.4.0.0alpha, on TWRP site for atrix shows 2.5 out

I got mine from the one click when I unlocked. 2.5 is just an update dont no what difference is your still good.

I just downloaded today with the unlock and got 2.5

I wonder, can you link me the IMG file? because after doing backup, i show the status bar still moving, top says Generating MD5, and the middle text last few lines say:
[2161 MB total backed up]
Updating partition details...
[Backup completed in 647 seconds]

but its all hung up, wont let me hit home or back, have to vol +,- and power to restart phone.

UPDATE: I found the 2.5 in an atrix forum, could I just use that img and flash with fastboot the same way? Since the unlock and recovery goes across the Razr HD, M an Atrix?

Quick question : I can mount system and load any moto based ROM but when I try to load cm 10.1 it fails almost instantly. What am I doing wrong ? I'm rooted 4.1.2, unlocked, w/ TWRP.
Any suggestions ?

I have not had any problems installing cm10.1. I was on stock 4.1.2 then I just wiped cache, dalvik, data and system. I have never had to mount system before flashing any rooms so far... Then I just install cm10.1 and gapps.

CM10 has a kernel. You won't need to mount /system.

Looks like a RAZR M soak test email just went out recently. I'd advice, again, that people be very cautious in taking these new updates. Especially if you haven't unlocked yet and wish to. It's very possible this new update will block that.

I personally think with an unlocked boot, there is no reason to take an OTA. our developers can dissect the OTA and give us a rom

Absolutely correct! What I was mostly saying is that those who are on the fence about unlocking or not should decide soon before the update gets pushed. Else there may not be an option and the choice will be made for you.

Yeah, I went ahead and unlocked my M while on rooted 4.1.1, if we really need 4.1.2 im sure we can get it shortly for our unlocked devices

Hey Sam I unlocked first day now afew days later seems like battery life is not so good and phone is slowing down I am still on 4.1.1 and on a network extender. If I didnan fdr would I screw things up. Also I have SS but I am on stock.

I would be real leary about that Moto could sljo something in. Im in same boat with hd maxx there is supposed to be a zip for 4.1.2 comming out this weekend.

I'd personally make a backup and then try, in order:

o) Wipe the cache and dalvik

if that doesn't work:

o) FDR and restore ONLY non-system apps and data from backup

Then let it settle for a day or two and see if anything improves.

Yea, once unlocked there is ZERO benefit to taking OTA updates anymore. Someone will publish an update that is safe to use that you can flash in TWRP or CWR. You may be a few days behind OTA in some cases, but, so? You're unlocked and will never need to worry about losing root again.
