On a lighter note I dreamed last night that I got a new maxx HD and unlocked it. I was so pissed when I woke up.

Unfortunately, not even that. In the deal with the VZW devil for a non-unlockable device family, the old moto used (wrote) the same unrewritable Qfuse that Dan uses to execute the exploit (this is the dumbed down version I understand based on madly knowledgeable people like SamuriHL). so it's actually a hardware issue. They can't even do it at the moto factory, which is why they never included any VZW device in the moto unlock program. No way no how. SamurilHL suspected something non-reversible as early as last May. Now it's confirmed.

Ran into an issue though.... was unlocking the bootloader from my mac and after the initial unlock it says hit enter one the phone has rebooted into bootloader mode.

 

After doing that i just receive the following error, over and over...

 

ERROR: Unable to create a plug-in (e00002be)

 

It seesm to have worked as i now get the unlocked message and can get into fast ap bootmod...not sure if this is something to worry about.  Was going to try it again once i get in front of a windows machine to see if that makes a difference

 

 

*****Disregard.... i re-ran the script from a windows machine this time (x64 win8) and it ran and completed fine without the "unable to create plug-in" error....

I just wanted to confirm:

 

Did 4.1.2 Update this morning and broke my root. Re-rooted with motochooper successfully. Ran this exploit and unlocked my bootloader for the first time. 

 

Thanks for the exploits! Its nice to see on the other forums (like Droidlife) where people are being laughed it for saying "its impossible"

Just curious, what advantage is there to this over the Safe Strap ROMMING?

 

I'm a bit annoyed at how ROMs (and stock) develop lag (hanging for a few seconds pressing the home button, etc).  Will this fix that...even if it did it stock?

Just got it done on my MAXX HD, never updated from 4.0.4 and it all worked perfectly! Thanks to all involved!

let's say it's just safer than...safestrap.

and you can flash any roms to the stock unless the rom is made only for safestrap.

No there is not. The unlock code is done through the official Moto site. This is an exploit. I would suggest reading this thread and any other info you can find. Ask questions. We will all be glad to help you get it done.

OK guys, I'm in. Ordered a new M last night just so I can unlock it and play. I love my xt875(x2) and my 912, but couldn't fight the urge to have a not sanctioned unlocked BL on a current moto device. Gotta have that old skool hello moto boot splash too.

Yeah, late Monday night til about 3:00 on Wednesday. Now I've got 2 bionics, a maxx, and an M. If I can just find a decent affordable D4 and HD before the X hits the street I'll have a complete set (other than the OG non maxx RAZR) of everything post D3. Everything D3 and down has been sold/traded/given away. (I've owned every moto droid except the stupid droid pro).
