Sorry another screwing for xt 912 owners(including myself), but not really because I turned mine into a modem months ago and replaced it with a DNA. My RAZR Maxx experience feels just like being a NY Jet fan for 20 years before I realized they werent worth my time anymore. Good Luck Maxx fans!!!

This is a great step forward. I can't wait to see where this goes and totally hope that this will hit OMAP devices like the bionic.

Surprises me that people think an unlocked boot loader=let the development begin.... Naive at best. Why do you think we don't have tons of ROMs for the development editions? Simple source availability didn't change.

Either way hats off to a great feat.

Yeah, OMAP is hardware locked in the manufacturing process. These one's weren't. So OMAP would really be impossible.

The only way OMAP would be unlockable is if Motorola themselves made an OTA update for all of the OMAP's which purposely made bootloader unlockable. Unlikely..

I believe no device should be locked in the first place, however Motorola was just doing Verizon's bidding but now that has been beaten and the world of developing has just begun :D

^^^ This ^^^

This exploit didn't magically change the hardware inside the phone, guys. It's still a matter of making that hardware work with the OS

It looks like now you can just recover from a bad flash more easily instead of having to get all FXZ up in this B*%#@ to get back to a usable device.

Well in actuality it did change the hardware inside the phone lol. Unlock fuse is blown if this is done.

You will STILL need to flash FXZ files if you bork. This just means we can flash ANY FXZ files. Not just the ones Motorola says we can.
