I have been contemplating the decision of what to do with a short battery life on the razor... when I think of all the options we have.. at 109 dollars, this really is not a great option.. of course this is just my opinion.. but I see razors going for 300-375 dollars used.. a good used maxx goes for 470 -525....
You're going to have no warranty either way... at least with a razor max if you lose it or break it you will be covered by assurion and they will send you a replacement razor maxx.. if you lose or break your converted razor you are sol... so in addition to your 100 dollar deductible you will need to spend another 109 to get back to the point of where you were... which of course voids the warranty on your new replacement... super me I am not in at 109 it is too much money.... I will just find a used maxx and sell my phone before I go that route.... I've been paying for a assurion for 3 years and never needed it ...my luck I'll newd it the week after I put the big battery in....

You do realize that if you buy a phone on Ebay or Craigslist you can't have Asurion insure it. They only insure phones purchased from Verizon.

I can't believe how everyone thinks its about 20-30 dollars to high. If they would have left the price at 149 you guys would be saying a 100 would be about right. We don't know how much these parts actually cost. I would say if you want it the price is fair.

This doesn't include the other parts to complete the razr.

Agreed. The price seems more than fair to me. If we get even more off with the group buy then that's just icing on the cake!

Let's be clear here on pricing. I purchased a external battery on Amazon, one that has 5 times the charges on it and can charge two devices at once, for $49. Are you saying the door part alone on the back is worth $60? This isn't taking into account the battery is half the size of the external one I bought and it's a quality Anker unit. The price is too high and does need to come down some, IMO.

Well, being the only one in the market does allow them to control the price.. And an external battery is different and much cheaper to manufacture as compared to the shop having to source it from motorola and no doubt motorola hiked the price up as well..

Now having a Maxx, and having lugged around a 7000mAh external battery (which though nearly 4 times the capacity of the OG Razr, only charges it about 2-2.5 times), your argument arenas more to support your prior choice than reality. While a Maxx isn't the end all be all of battery life, it is enough to use this phone to its fullest over a day--watching movies, keeping 4G on, full brightness, setting smart actions so they aren't crippling, etc.

I was trying to run my battery down for a battery monitor calibration, and it was tricky to do so in one day. The external battery pack, which was awkward, heavy, and looked stupid if you had to charge in the middle of a call, has been related now to use on airline flights in excess of 6 hours.

On the same note, all you folks need to be realistic about what you are getting with the upgrade. It is awesome, and what the Razr should have been from the get go, but it won't let you triple your usage. If you are going to spend all day in a car on GPS, you will need to hit a charger.

In flights, I would just close my eyes and sleep.. Writhe phone switched off.. Since I can't make any phone calls.. If I need to be entertained, I use the in flight entertainment system
