I realize it will take you quite a bit of time to compose yourself after this episode given all that happens.  But, I gotta say, my initial reaction to it at 5am after having seen it stands.  This was by far the best episode of the show.  I need to watch it about 10 more times.  Just absolutely stunning.

I am speechless.  That is one of my favorite Star Wars moments EVER.  Rogue One has always been my favorite "moment" but this one takes place along with it.  Holy.........$#!+.

Believe me, I said the same thing at 5am when I watched it.  It mirrored that quite nicely.  And I do mean mirror...you get what I'm saying there.  I'm about to watch it again.  If you haven't, make sure to watch the credits as there's a spoiler for the new show we've been discussing that was missing from the list.  Dec 2021.

I'm skipping right to the good stuff here...

 

Comms girl knew Bo-Katan's voice.  I maintain if she's not Sabine, she's still someone important.

 

Dark troopers are aholes.

 

Darksaber vs Beskar spear was pretty awesome.  I mean, we all knew it was going to be Mando fighting Gideon with that thing.  Now that he has it, it's a challenge for Bo-Katan.  Since she lost it, I don't think she can get it back again without fighting for it.  Sabine gave it to her the first time.  Losing it and then getting it handed back to you....not a compelling story.

 

What IS a compelling story is Mando learning how to use that thing.  We've not seen a Mandalorian Jedi in a thousand years.  I don't think he necessarily becomes a Jedi, but, learning to use the Darksaber with limited force ability?  I could see that.

 

Alright, let's get to it.  Holy S***!  "A single X-Wing?  Great....we're saved."  BAHAHAHA  If you only knew.  As SOON as we saw the X-Wing, we knew it was Red 5 standing by.  LOL  Bo-Katan instantly recognized the lightsaber and the tactics of a fully trained Jedi Knight.  The original trilogy really robbed us of seeing what a fully trained Luke looks like.  And Last Jedi doesn't really count IMO.  You saw Mando defeat Gideon with the spear and you saw that he quite frankly had far more difficulty with a Dark Trooper.  When you see Luke cutting them down like f***ing buttered pancakes and a hot knife, you understand that he's playing on a WHOLEEEEEEE other level.  They knew it too watching him on the monitors.  Grogu was even impressed, and he's seen Jedi before the purge.  Luke's powers are no freaking joke, even when compared to Jedi of old.  As we already mentioned, it was GLORIOUS to watch.  And I've watched it numerous times already in Dolby Vision.  It has the same impact each time.  Yes, very much Rogue One Darth Vader esque.  Only instead of a pissed off Sith cutting down rebels, we have a very calm Jedi cutting down Dark Troopers like they were protocol droids.  LMAO  Absolutely stunning to watch.

 

Grogu is screwed, I'm afraid.  He will be Luke's first student after Leia.  And I seriously think Ben Solo and the Kniights of Ren kill him along with the rest of the Jedi Academy. That sense of loss is what drives Luke into exile.

 

What an incredible ending to a very good season.

Yeah, as you mentioned, the two moments are a mirror.  And that mirror is my favorite "moments" of star wars along with the "I am your father." Famous moment.
