Very likely not. This is why people said to think long and hard about unlocking the phone when that window of opportunity was open if you care about root. Now that the window is closed and the root exploit no longer works, well, you can hope for a new root exploit, but, I seriously wouldn't expect one.

No excuse for my indecisiveness however it is a tough break for anyone who buys a new one or gets an insurance replacement.

Glad you were able to root! If you haven't taken the latest ota update I would suggest you unlock while you can. Once unlocked you will not have to worry about losing root. Once you take the update there is no current way to unlock.i just got my replacement today (coming from og RAZR , now on RAZR HD!) and it shipped yesterday with older firmware! ran motochop and booyaa root. thank God they didn't update the replacements yet..lol still debating on unlocking...I'm quickly realizing most Verizon CLNR devices are garbage.. i mean i guess it depends on the phone mfg but still...here's hoping this one will last... hence why I'll prob just stick to rooting..because when it craps out (when, not if) I'll just replace it on vzws great CLNR with God knows what..

I also got a refurbish replacement with the latest update after I told them or requested a brand new phone, so I called them back and told them the hdmi port was loose, that it was working but I had to move it and wiggle it till it showed the image on my tv, that I wanted to talk to their higher office if the rep that was helping me wasn't going to make sure they sent me a brand new! Phone, so they sent me a new one with the original stock softwareI wish I had the same experience, I did the same as you but I received a HD with the updated software..

Dang. Wish I had done that. Now, a week later, the lock button on my HD went out. I just got back from the local Verizon to order a replacement before reading this. Here is to hoping the next one hasn't gotten the update or something goes wrong with it.I also got a refurbish replacement with the latest update after I told them or requested a bran new phone, so I called them back and told them the hdmi port was loose, that it was working but I had to move it and wiggle it till it showed the image on my tv, that I wanted to talk to their higher office if the rep that was helping me wasn't going to make sure they sent me a brand new! Not sure if any of these patched exploits in 4.4.3 would help?
The "tethered" root is fixed, but that doesn't work apparently as others have tried it on KK with the XT926. But, not sure about the others?

I upgrated to the Dev s5, Have you tried the Mod called Xtether from the Xposed modules app? It made the rooted s5's tether work without 3rd party appsNot sure if any of these patched exploits in 4.4.3 would help?
