No. The only thing you need in order to use rsd is to be booted into fastboot. Just keep in mind that you cannot flash firmware older than what was/is on there now.

Oh, that's a bummer. However, I can install fastboot if I'm not rooted?
I'm on 9.30..you're saying I can't flash anything older than that?
THanks.

That's right Integrate. I fastbooted my device back to 9.20 and then just updated 9.30.
I've decided to leave the device alone; not even gonna root it or meddle with it.
Still a great device and battery life. It's unfortunate Motorola has made it difficult to change things up!

Were you already on 9.20 when you fastbooted?
I updated to 9.30, but I want to fastboot back to a system version that is rootable.
Chrome is so terrible that I want to install the normal android browser.

That is not possible. Before ICS they had lacking security that allowed that but not any more. We were able to trick it with motochopper 1.3 bit they patched that. Speaking of which, do NOT attempt 1.3 as that will give you the improper boot.IMG.Were you already on 9.20 when you fastbooted?

Thanks for the clarification! I came from the GS3, so all that was possible. Shucks! Just have to wait for bootloader/root for 9.30 I guess!

Uhhh, well judging on the development as far as unlocking the bootloader now, there won't be any for 9.30.
There wasn't anything available for 9.20 either...

Sounds like you have the incorrect files is my guess. You didnt provide any information for us really to help.
Start with your device (we will assume an HD since thats where you posted), and System or Build Number. The files in the OP are for MR2 and are dated.....

Hmm, thinking about it, he may not be able to get that far to get the info.....Ok, we can see that your Locked, now the question is did you have Root previously? Depending on what we flash depends on what you had last and you may lose root forever. Of course, right now you probably dont have a working device so losing root to get the device back may be your only option.
