- Mac & Linux Instructions

  • Extract the .zip to any folder you like, the /Downloads/ or /Desktop/ folder should work just fine.
  • Open a Terminal window. (On Mac: Applications > Utilities > Terminal)
  • Learn your 'sudo' password. This is almost always your Admin password on a Mac computer. On Linux you should already know what this is, its yours account password if your account is an admin as well.
  • Type the following code into the Terminal Windows, places where it says ***DRAG HERE*** are telling you to simply drag the folder there. For example: cd ***DRAG FOLDER HERE*** then press 'Enter' after each line.

  • You will be asked for your sudo password at least once in the Utility process, so make sure you followed the instructions to learn it.

Number 1 Explained -- This option requires your phone be in AP Fastboot mode. It will flash the official Jellybean firmware to your device.

Number 2 Explained -- This is Dan Rosenberg's DROID RAZR M 4.0.4/4.1.1 exploit called 'motofail2go'. This option requires your phone to be booted normally, with USB Debugging enabled.

Number 3 Explained -- This option requires your phone to be booted normally, with USB Debugging enabled. It will install Voodoo's OTA Rootkeeper App.

Remember, do not run this utility unless your phone is at 100% battery OR you have bought yourself one of Team Black Hat's Factory-Style Programming Adapters.

Thanks to Djrbliss for motofail2go!

Looks like I'll be using this today. Need to clean up everything after unlocking, and fastboot will probably be the answer.

Thanks for this awesome utility! I used it today after messing around too much with my unlocked RAZR M and it worked flawessly. Followed all the steps and within 1 hour I am completely back to where I was before unlocking. As a note, it does not remove unlock. Thanks to this awesome dev and the others for there individual work.

Will do.

edit: I will have to say that's the fastest Fastboot I've run. Running through RSD is nerve racking, this was painless. MrcOOlbreeze, fastboot worked, the root method worked. I now have TWRP (the older version that's in the RazrM Devleoper Section) installed. I tried to flash Eclipse and that failed. Then I flashed Flying Jelly, it's working.

Ikr? Rooted with SS installed. Thinking of unlocking but will probably use utility to go back to original stock then unlock. Seems like people are having issues with uninstalling SS. Then install TWRP.

Edit: Forgot to say thank you.

I would unlock, then use the utility. It doesn't really matter what order, though. NP, I've learned a lot in this process. Flashing on my Samsung Tablet is easy, this phone is a moody beotch. ;)

I tried to copy the link, but tapa talk was acting up on me. If you read through the forums here, there is a thread about Motorola boootloader being unlocked with link and download. For the utility. Read the instructions thoroughly before using the utility, and feel free to ask for assistance if needed, either in the thread or via pm. There's lots of helpful info if you read through the thread, or send a pm. :-)
