did that with every iteration....i'll try r4 tomorrow, we'll see if that is any different.

again, the only way to get it to install correctly is to install over stock.

one more thing, when i boot up, the first message i get is text messenger force quits...then it goes to the setup, then when i hit okay, it says please wait....then it's done...other than that, it's a very stable build, but since it seems to be based of stock, not sure what difference there are with the full BN roms

This is bugging me. I'd love to help you with your issue and find out what the problem is, but it never occurs when I do a fresh install :/

I've been having internet problems (at home for spring break vs the wonderful internet I have at school). Let me reupload it and see if that helps. Make sure the md5 of the file you downloaded matches the one I have in the OP.

EDIT: that means don't try downloading until I say!

I've downloaded this file 3 times so my guess is that the upload is corrupted

I don't think that's you're rom at all doing it. I've been getting that problem on multiple roms since going to the new JB OTA. Sometimes when I flash a rom I get that Text Messaging has force closed, sometimes I don't. I though it had to do when I didn't make a new rom slot but I'll get it when I delete all rom slots and start in a fresh one. I think it's some glitch with the new OTA of just kernel. I don't think it's a bad download either because I'll flash a rom get the text messaging foce close message (after that message my phone also has no data or signal everytime) and I'll flash again and have it working fine.

So I'm sure it isn't the rom shobon.

Must be a bad .zip or something, I re-downloaded and tried everything and it would still fail

I'm too excited and I'm bad at keeping secrets, so here's what's a WIP for r5:
  • Replacing the RAZR M launcher with the RAZR i launcher
  • Removing app labels from the dock
While removing the labels is purely aesthetic, switching to the RAZR i launcher completely destroys all lag in the launcher. I've been testing it for a total of about ten minutes but it's been smooth as silk. This is a huge milestone, so get ready >:)

I flashed r4 over r3 by wiping dalvik cache and cache only. No problems to report. Works great. Can't wait for r5!

WARNING: DO NOT CLEAN-FLASH r4

There's an issue with the AOSP lockscreen/reboot mod that causes r4 to bootloop when doing a clean install. It'll be removed in r5 until I can get some further testing done.

I really appreciate your concern. And I'm happy to report, I have solved the issue. The solution occurred to me this morning when I tried to flash r4 and it wouldn't unzip the file (downloaded on my phone last night, I'll download it to my computer today)...but after the system was wiped/etc...and the install failed...i couldn't restore the last backup...nothing was showing up in SS 3.11...so i decided to delete the rom slot, and recreate it....once i did that.....voila'...install worked...setup and everything is looking good, still setting up. One other change was going from 3gb to 2gb in the slot setup.

thanks for all the help and concern...we're good!

I really like the AOSP lock screen and reboot mod. Is there any way you can add the mod as a seperate zip file for people to flash as an add on they can flash after a fresh install or even flashing over an older version of the ROM? Great work BTW.....+1

Yes! The mod was originally created by KrYpToNiTe and you can download the zip here:

Managed to reverse-engineer the AOSP lockscreen, confirmed booting on a fresh install!
