I have been trying to figure out how to edit/create themes basically by opening themes and seeing what is in them. Not a very efficient way to do that.
If anyone has any links to documents for beginning themers, it would be nice to have them posted here. In particular I am trying to figure out the folders in framework-res/res and what the *-hdpi, *-land-hdpi, etc directories mean.
Anyone have Links to Good Theming Docs?

Try that. You can also go through the How-To section on this site. There are some good threads that will help get you started.
