What system version should I be on to flash? (6.12.181 I assume, yes?)

--Can I downgrade back to GB if I am unhappy? (On stock ICS leak I know this is impossible)
--Generally, is it stable enough for daily use? (intend on not have safe strap)

I would strongly recommend using safestrap. keep stock moto rom on non-safe partition. use safe partition to flash custom roms. it's really the best way to go, IMO. would have killed for safestrap on my Dx the last 18 months.

I've had intermittent data issues on all the ICS roms I've flashed. currently on Eclipse (gb based) and running smooth.

I can reliably duplicate data drop. If you are on wifi, your phone goes to sleep, then go where wifi "isn't".. phone will not have data connection.

If I disable wifi before putting phone to sleep" when I go to work in the morning for example, I don't lose connection.

As always, YMMV

hope this helps.

I am aware of these settings. What I was pointing out is a way to (hopefully) alleviate data connection issues by turning wifi off before leaving the area covered by that wifi connection point.

Just flashed this yesterday, first ICS rom on my Razr, pretty sick rom.

Only issue is the DATA DROPS! Keep dropping service, then picks up 4G but cant get data, then just stays showing 4G logo but no connection. After a few reboots I get it working but that is a big hassle to do all the time...

Is there a fix for this?

Is this the only ROM that you are experiencing the data problems to this extent?

As I mentioned, this is the first ICS rom I have tried. Previous GB rom had no data issues (besides the normal occassional 4G drop). This seems to be almost constant on Gummy...

Give a different ROM a try and see if it's just this ICS version or something else. I had experienced the problems that you have as well with data. I went to another ICS rom and have not had the same issues. I liked Gummy alot, but if I can't have consistent data that was a deal breaker for me...

Any recommendations on a good rom besides Gummy that may fix the problem?

I've tried them all and gummy always had the best data for me. Maybe try the .75 leak? I rarely drop with the leak.

I currently have Eclipse v1.3 on my droid razr maxx through bootstrap. How can I clear everything off my phone (CWM, bootstrap, data, etc...) to return to a totally stock GB.... ?

{After full wipe, will safestrap and etc.)

Format your SD card and fastboot back to stock.

Ran the same ROM on NS4G before coming over to the Razr. Other than minor data issues all has been smooth.

Hey guys,
So i found out why the ROM has been giving data problems. Apparently its switches over to a GSM radio connection(not really sure).
TO FIX IT:
-go to the phone
-dial *#*#4636#*#*
-press phone settings
-then change the thing that says GSM to GSM/CDMA (PRL)
This is the same *bug* that is present in the black widow ICS ROM too.
There is a video too:

Or you could just download phone info app from the market. then use it to go into phone information click GSM only wait for the screen to blink or just wait 5 seconds then change it to GSM/CDMA (PRL)
it is quite a bit faster then having to dial that code.

Am I missing something? Are either method any different than settings-> wireless & networks-> more->mobile networks-> network mode?

Oh and while I'm at it, DO NOT SET GSM FROM *#*#4636#*#* and reboot without setting it back. I can tell you first hand it's a bad idea, phone app constantly FCs and you'll never be fast enough to free get in an nd change it.

Ok so I tried phone info app, it's 16kb and all it does is bring you to the test screen. You can do this by creating a shortcut to an activity on the home screen with one of the following target activities:

Settings->Testing(TestSettings)
This is the same as *#*#4636#*#*

Setting->Phone info(.RadioInfo)
This takes you directly to the radio screen so all you have to do is change the network type.

Phone->Network settings(. Settings)
This takes you to Settings-> more-> wireless & networks-> mobile networks

I have had a lot of data issues with the ics roms. both black widow and gummy have the same issues for me. if i put the phone somewhere that it can not receive a data signal for several hours, like my locker at work, then when I go to use my phone, it will display a nice 4g connection until i attempt to do anything that requires data...then the 4g bars turn gray and I loose data instantly. after a min or two, It comes back with the little rx in the bars, then goes back to a full strength 4g signal, but It wont actually receive data. After a reboot, 4g data comes back normally (though a bit flaky for a few min, going back and forth with rx, 4g, and sometimes 3g before it stabilizes). After the reboot, I receive data normally until I place the phone in the locker for a few hours where, it again, looses data connection. then I have to reboot to get data back. So it seems if it looses data for a period of time, it just gives up trying to connect till I reboot. Until the last couple releases of black widow, I didn't have much of an issue with data, however the last two releases of black widow are a data nightmare. I gave up and went back to this gummy rom. I like the looks of this one better anyway. I also wish i could find the people that make the facebook app and punch them right in the nose.
