I've had data drop out consistently when I get into an area with poor signal. When it goes out it seems to reconnect but the icons stay grey. Phone works as well as texts but no data.
If I stay in an area with good signal I never have a problem.
I haven't had any loss of phone connection. Just the data. It seems like once the data connection is severed for some reason only a restart will bring it back
Shoot that happens to me on the stock ROM and Eclipse
Haven't had any data connection issues with the stock rom. I really really like ICS, but it sounds like I may have to wait for something with a stable data connection.

Exact same for me, always have to restart it... just to lose it 15 minutes later, but I can deal with it.

I am really seeing it after my phone has been connected to bluetooth and then when that connection is killed I do not regain my cell signal. I see it in data every now and then, but that's not a problem to me. My main concern is losing my phone signal after this. I have to do a reboot to get it back. Any others seeing this or any suggestions for a fix?
Thanks

I personally run this rom on one of my razr's and think it's the best out there. So thanks kejar for the hard work.
I wanted to second this. This ROM, by far, is much faster than the bloat-n-blurred Gingerbread that came stock. Also, there are tons of added features to Gummy ICS that aren't in all of the other versions of ICS, or even stock ICS.
Even after the official ICS comes out, I plan on continuing to use Gummy.
Now, I want to talk about the data problems that people are having. I've been running Gummy for several days and have taken my phone all around my city. In my apartment, sometimes the signal strength goes down to one bar (I know, dBm's are more accurate). But I have not had one single data issue, black-out, etc.
What I don't understand is how most people installing this ROM are using Verizon phones and some are having data issues and some aren't. You would think with the same exact phone, same hardware, same ROM, everyone's phone would work exactly the same. But I guess it comes down to how the software was installed. Whether someone used Bootstrap instead of Safestrap. And how well they cleaned out the caches, factory reset, etc., before installing the ROM.
I don't know if it's related, but when the Galaxy Nexus first came out, it was riddled with data issues as well. Most of us chalked it up as horrible radio software by Samsung. I'm not too sure how the data issues would be related to ICS specifically, though..
** Edit to add** that 3G and 4G are both way faster on Gummy ICS than the stock Gingerbread that came with the Razr. Go figure.

I guess I third this? While I am mostly on droidhive because of DT's Axi0m actually being on that site, I like Gummy better because of the more stable data. For all of you guys experiencing data problems, don't think I am not on to you. Most of you are just saying there is data issues without ACTUALLY following the correct steps. For example, when you wipe DON'T RESTORE ANY DATA. I can't stress this enough. Also, try fastbooting and start all over. Don't just blame the ROM saying it's data isn't as stable as the last build. If you just live in a low signal area then either disable 4g or try fastbooting (going back to stock non-rooted) and flashing the .177 unofficial update. They say it has better stability with data (both 4g and 3g) and will cause your data to not drop connection randomly. With that being said, HAPPY FLASHING!!!

I'm not saying that I'm randomly losing data, it's just that some classrooms in my school have 0 service, even if I switch it to CDMA only. None at all. Then once I leave that room I'll pickup service again, i just wont pickup my data, and a reboot is required to fix it. This has happened on all of the ICS ROMs. The only data that has been restored was from my gmail account, and I don't know how to stop that from syncing.
After you said this I am considering fastbooting, but I don't want to lose everything and start over. I don't want to have to redownload everything from scratch if I'm not supposed to let my apps or contacts restore (would restoring the widgetlocker lockscreen also be restoring data?)
I thought I followed the directions correctly, but maybe I'm wrong.

Don't just assume we are doing it wrong. I completely wiped and started from scratch. I have done it three different time. I have tried disabling 4g. When the connection drops it is gone till a restart. Sometimes it lasts for a couple of hours sometimes a couple of minutes. Just because you are lucky enough to not have data issues doesn't mean there aren't data issues.

Oh I believe you, don't worry... if and when it works flawlessly we will all be happy including me ... That might not be until we have a release from Moto though
