To the people with data issues....are you letting the phone fully load, get up to normal operating speeds, fully boot, etc before trying to do anything w/ the phone? Similar to letting your computer fully ...

Yes. In fact, several hours later, same issue in my case. I completely wiped the non-safe data and backup that safe strap creates and started fresh. Still no joy.

Coming from dhackers RAZR-CM9-03-13-SELFKANG, did factory reset, wiped cache, wiped dalvik, and formatted system, flashed 0.8.3. Had same data issues as others and could not get it for the life of me. Went through the same wipe procedure again, this time flashing 0.8.2 first. Was able to get data at this point, then flashed 0.8.3 after formatting cache and dalvik and was able to acquire date without incident. That was 20 minutes ago, so I cannot speak to the longevity.

I was on 8.1 and 8.2 before changing to a different rom on safe-side. Then, came back to 8.3 from the other rom and haven't lost data yet (2 days) and at home I have a fairly weak signal that pre-8.3 would give me some trouble. Really crazy sounding stuff happening with data for a # of people. Reading through posts it's tough to narrow a cause down due to so many factors , wish I could help u all

At bottom of lockscreen settings you'll see custom apps 1 and 2. Select and choose your application you prefer on lockscreen then back out Should then show up for you

I'm on safe strap and haven't had a data drop... Ever... That's since day one when this rom was released. So it's definitely not the reason for drops. At this point I think it's completely random... Or maybe people in lessor coverage areas.

I'm curious, I LOVE this ROM, AND I prefer safestrap, can any one confirm a data connectivity issue with bootstrap, and or multiple users confirm or deny the problem with safe strap, I run it and in 3g areas I will say that my data is better if it were on stock, but in a 4g area there is absolutely no difference. Thanks in advance for any interest in continuing the query to this topic.

I got the stars that will allow me to launch apps directly.. My question was more tailored towards custom icons instead of the stars. There is a setting to "allow custom icons" but after selecting it, I don't see a way to change the icons from stars to something else.

I installed this ROM w/ Safestrap and have had zero problems whatsoever.. no matter how long I let the phone sit or use it.

A fyi about my headphone jack. It is hardware related and not rom related. I went back stock and it's still not working. I'll be making a trip to vzw this weekend I guess.

Flashed this ROM after wiping data, cache and dalvik using bootstrap. It got to the setup screen and as I was setting up wifi, it rebooted and is now stuck on the 'gummy...' screen. Should I wait it out a bit or is my phone done for?

[EDIT]
I got it back to CWM. I'm re-doing the process now. Crossing my fingers it'll work this time

Just fyi to everyone. Verizon is having issues with their network, according to a customer service rep I talked to today. I have not flashed this rom yet bc I my data has been out for the past few days, I am stock. They said it is taking longer than expected and should be up by tomorrow. Wait a few days before posting anything about data loss. Hope this helps.

I have changed those stars. I am currently awaiting permission from 2 different developers to use their work that I changed a little bit to get back to me. And once I do I will post up 9 different files that'll change the icons for you. Along with instructions on how to use the files, and how to use your own personal icons (can also change the Camera/Unlock icons).

Also along with changing the Nav Bar Buttons (if you use them) to custom icons has also been working on our Razr with this ROM. If anybody wants to change the Nav Bar Buttons you can just PM me and I can give links/instructions on how to do so. Nothing requires editing unlike the lock screen part (which is why I am waiting for permission to post). Just have to manually replace them with either RootExplorer, Ninjamorph, or Metamorph. (I was first directed to changing the Nav Bar Buttons by tyrthas, so much thanks to him!)

Traveling today through mountainous area. First time losing signal on 8.3 As soon as approached good coverage area data came back full strength. When 4g signal was weak switching to cdma only helped to maintain data. Seems to crap out when has to jog back and forth between 3 and 4g very much

I have noticed that after I do a Fix Permissions with Rom Manager that I lose my data connection and does not want to reconnect.

But after I remove the program and Wipe Cache and Wipe Davik I regain a data connection but does not stick. Have to do a complete wipe to fully regain data.

I have done a few tests and removing Rom Manager app does seem to help. I am not a developer so I dont know why Fix Permissions or Rom Manager would have an effect on the data.

I will update with any changes...
