I personally wipe data\cache\dalvik then format system before going to ICS from GB.

I did all of that, I am running the fast boot files for .173 then rooting, installing safestrap, and installing the rom and the gapps. all over again. I sure hope it works this time. I want to be able to run this rom :P

It doesn't have to be installed to run this ROM. But it definitely seems like the best bet for you.

Nothing is working. I flashed fast boot file, rerooted, installed safestrap wipe data, cache, davkin, format system, flashed the rom, gapps. and it searches for service, Cannot activate, Went to phone settings, its set on lte/cdma., *#*#4363#*#*. Nothing. Still no data connection. I give up...I can take a beating, but this is beating me to death.

Well, you can get 1x by going into Phone Information and setting it to CDMA only, not CDMA auto. It's better than nothing, but not by much..

Yes, I just flashed this rom. There is no 4g in my area either. I have no data connection.

Thing is, I don't remember this happening to my phone until I flashed 0.8.3 though and even then it was a little bit after it was running I noticed this. I think I'll delete my safestrap backup and start fresh with it and see what happens.... maybe do 0.8.2 first as I mentioned earlier and see what happens. I still have a little reading here to do so perhaps someone else replied with something else I should try that I've not seen yet.

Not being in a 4G area wouldn't have anything to do with it. I'm in a 3G area only and it's connecting fine for me.. maybe someone else with have an idea. I've been up since about 1:30am and I'm all out of ideas for the moment..

For those of you having data issues... dial *#*#4636#*#* and tap Phone Information and make sure it is set to GSM/CDMA auto (PRL). Sometimes it doesn't fully register when you do it in settings. So check them both.

Did this. Only one that gives me a connection, and then only for about 15 seconds like some have reported is CDMA Only / CDMA Auto PRL. A couple of times I went out of each of those and back in again and they'd reset themselves to GSM again and I just had barX again. Still fiddling tho. I just discovered that if I try to set it to what I think it should be which is LTE/CDMA, it switched to GSM. Neither one actually give me a data connection either. Just the CDMA one.

I don't have too many data issues. If doing the data toggle doesn't work, I just reboot and I'm good to go. I am in a 4G area in SoCal area.

Moved on to the LG G2 on VZW and lovin it!

I've been running Gummy for the last 2 days. Everything is great upon first install and it seems like the perfect rom. Then data issues start happening, and it seemed to get worse and worse, not to mention the battery life was very poor. I re-installed everything, and it was the same cycle of events. All in all, every ICS rom I try, it is just not worth the hassle. Nothing has ever performed better than Stock .173 for me.

Unfair to compare to stock rom. Although great progress has been made w/ ics, they are in alpha stages, and w/o a radio upgrade, will be some time before it gets to where it needs to be. With that said we are volunteering to be testers in this process, and if one doesn't find this enjoyable, going stock or custom gbread is probably the way to go. :-) Choices make android rock

It is very true that while this rom seems 2000% amazing at first, the data hiccups are fairly annoying. It rarely happens for me and a quick data toggle or reboot usually fixes it in a min, but this doesn't seem to be the norm.
FYI I flashed it in Safestrap after flashing the 'onewipetorulethemall' a few times, followed by gapps and the beats audio zip (which I forgot was only for gingerbread, but doesn't seem to have broken anything).

It IS beta though, so 100% functionality can't be expected. I guess we were all kinda hoping this would be slightly more legit.

I had similar data problems that the folks mentioned above.

Have you all tried the performance settings mentioned in the OP?
min cpu=600mhz
governor=on demand
check set cpu at boot.

If you aren't able to connect at all when you first flash the rom I would suggest flashing 173 and starting all over again. Also check the md5 values for your downloads too.

I had pretty significant data issues for the first day or so when I was home, I live in a fairly wooded but 4g supported area. My signal strength is usually around -95 dbm at home.

Then I took a trip into Seattle which I know has significantly better 4g support but I was still getting data connectivity issues.

After a couple of reboots I started connecting without fail. Even at my home which didn't used to get good 4g on this rom is working really well.

It might just be coincidence, but, if it's available to you try a reboot in an area that has a very strong signal and see if you can get connected there.

As for battery life, I've been using juice defender beta with the 4g/3g/wifi toggle and gps toggle on and I've been going on light usage for 13 hours and still have 70% battery. With moderate usage my battery dies after 24 hours.

I dont see how thats possible unless you are on a maxx, mine was basically dead after 9 hours today. Im giving it another shot tomorrow with set cpu options running and juice defender all day also. If i dont see a change i might have to switch roms =\

Try to wipe cache and dalvik, then see how that goes. Shouldn't have any issues with camera.
