In JB the power and volume down buttons are for screen shot.

Hey everyone, this is about perfect for me.  I've been out of the game for a while and just picked up a Note 2 and am getting my XT912 ready to be sold.

I had SS, two rom slots, stock in one and CM in the other.  After clearing off the few data items I wanted to keep, I removed the CM rom slot.  Removed the SS recovery.  Did a factory reset and then realized that some data was still on there.  So I figured a good reset to OTA was probably a good choice, hence I'm back here.

Now, I also see that my internal storage looks 2GB short.  Oops, I wonder if I partitioned during SS/rom creation and have lost 2GB somewhere.

When I do an SBF will it take care of partitions, etc.?  Full on flash of the SD?

Thanks!

Mike

The utility will not touch your storage (internal or external).... to "reclaim" the space on storage, you will need to do that manually (the best way is via plugging into computer)....

Thanks for the quick response.

Not sure I understand, then.  When plugged into the PC and using Partition Wizard, it didn't show multiple partitions.  But when in the device it seems to only have 6GB for apps and user data vs. the 8 or so I expected.  What utility can I confirm for the partitions?  I'm not sure how to see exactly how the 16GB is allocated.  Some reserved for OS, protected, etc.  Leaving a couple for user data and the rest for user apps, etc.  I'd like to account for all these so that I don't leave a 2GB block lost somewhere.  Does that make sense?

I will try clean it up, reformat, etc.  I'm not confident that my question was asked well... I'm not looking to maximize and clean house on my existing partitions, if that makes sense.  I'd like to ensure that I don't have any orphaned partitions.  I'm not sure if this addresses that or not.

Perhaps a simpler question.  When looking at the system, storage stats, what size should be available, total between apps and user data.  Not used, but total?  Not 16GB as some is locked for system and some for motocast, etc.  I'm thinking 8-10GB should be allocated to the two.

Am I making sense?

EDIT:  After clearing/formatting internal it does now show about 10GB between app (~3GB) and User storage (~7GB).  Thank you so much!

Today I successfully used option 1 & 3 . I did this for cleanup purposes, I was on OTA stock JB that I installed back in March (See quote below). I just wanted to erase everything and start fresh, crack-flasher habit

Okay so far we have:

Successful from Xmas leak to OTA stock JB using Option 1 (Data wipe)

Successful from modified ICS to OTA stock JB using Option 1 (Data wipe)

Anyone else have any other successes or failures?? Please throw up a comment so we know all the ways we can successfully arrive on the OTA JB.

Quick update,

This works like a champ ! I'm rooted, SS Installed and all is well.

Thank You

Hello,

I'm having problems rerooting my Maxx 912. I recently cleaned out internal and sd storeage. I was forced to recover through sideloading. Phone appears and runs as stock. No SU or Root. I've downloaded Matt's Utility again to reRoot and its not working.

I have downloaded drivers and checked for updates.

The utility runs and I'm getting "ADB not recognized as internal or external command, operable program or batch file."

Can some one help please.

Nevermind... Sorry for the clutter. I opened file in a seperate folder and installed Utility. Works perfect!

Help!

I was trying to install the Kitkat rom using this page

Please Login or Register to see this Hidden Content

and I think I soft bricked my phone.  I have been loading roms on my tablet(s) for quite a while, so I am familiar with the process.  I am booting into AP Fastboot and getting the "Battery Low" message.  I can't do anything from there. I can't charge the phone...I ordered an adapter, anything I can do in the mean time?

  Thanks!

Robert

BTW ..... Just for future reference..... You WILL soft brick EVERY TIME using that method .... The RAZR 912 is a locked device, therefore you cannot flash ROM(s) directly ..... You need to use a slot in safestrap...(that is why it is included in this utility)

Yeah, I was using SafeStrap 3.05 and I did a backup that's on my SD card.  Then I upgraded to 3.65 because I couldn't find the Kitkat ROM in 3.05.  I could see and attempt to load the Kitkat ROM in 3.65, but it failed every time.  So I tried to side load it from stock recovery....lesson learned. :)  Then I stumbled upon this post and thought I would try this.  All the while my battery was draining.....I plugged it in for about 4 hours, but that doesn't work (I found out later) if there is no ROM.  Thanks for the help; I'm sure this won't be an issue once I get the adapter.

On safestrap.....I had the "stock" slot and then 4 more.  I have to create slot 1 and then load a ROM there to flash it?  I'll google it, seems I have some time... :)

Thanks again.

Robert

So I ordered an adapter from a link on here and it took 8 days to get here (I can drive anywhere in the United states in 4 days) and it didn't work. No power at all when plugged in. FML....

Didn't work?...... Did you plug into computer?.... That's the only way the adapter will "register" anything..... Its not made to plug into a charger......

Does anyone know why the Batman screen force closes at the beginning? I think I've done everything right and I'm using an ECOMOTO cable. My phone doesn't have JB anymore. I just want a clean JB stock ROM.
