For some reason, the second try took and the boot loop is gone. BUT... now the phone says it can't see a SIM. I tried both my Batelco SIM (worked fine prior to the failure, and worked fine in a RAZR flip phone after the failure) and my VZW SIM. The message is basically "SIM needed to continue". Sigh... [/ sound of head hitting wall]

I'll try the wipe version - after all, I wiped the phone once earlier in this dance - no pain here.

UPDATE: No change when using the wipe option, with the SIM in place. I even put in the SD. No change.

It so helps to put the SIM in the right side up... [/ walks off drooling and mumbling]

Great thanks to everyone who helped with (and endured) this interesting little journey.

The sun's up, no clouds in the sky, and the wind is up to 20 kn. or better. What a good day to sit on the beach and re-load lost apps and data.

HaHa...well that was my morning laugh. Glad you got it working and provided everyone with a chuckle to boot!

Always glad to provide a bit of humor.

Great thanks, for support and patience, to everyone.

I spent far too much of yesterday recovering apps, etc. but the phone is functioning as it should and the bulk of the excitement is over. And, yes, I'll add Titanium to my list of apps.

Back to the cruising life at last: laundry this morning, a walk on the island to the local veggie stand, and then a sail up to Bitter Guana Cay, a refuge for native iguanas. It's hell but someone has to do it.

It's not that I hate fools, but I think we should hide all the warning signs and let nature sort things out.

Hey,

I'm having problems with my razr, I've tried SBF 4.1.2 through rsdlite, and I've tried your utility using option 1, the flash passed successfully, but when it reboots, I am stuck at a black screen with a droid logo. it does not move from there. I've tried booting into recovery after flashing and doing a factory reset, but also returns back to the same droid logo. Any help would be greatly appreciated :)

This should be the number 1 Pin in any forum for how to root JB for the Razr.  I tried a couple other methods and failed to root and couldn't get anywhere.  One attempt with Matt's utility and boom.  Root and install ROM and I am loving it.  Very easy to use and absolutely loved it.  Way to go and once I get paid next week, I am totally donating to you.  Great work and keep the great work coming.

I just wanted to report to everyone my most recent successful utilization of Matt's Batman Utility Belt.^_^

I have a xt912 Razr Maxx running RAGE ROM 3.0 on the most recent JB kernel (.16), and everything's working beautiful after running the Belt.  I was up and running quicker than it took to grab a Starbucks from the fridge and use the bathroom.

Backed up through SafeStrap.

Used Reboot option in SafeStrap to Power Off.

Went to AP Fastboot mode (while powered off and holding down Power and both volume buttons).

Chose AP Fastboot (use volume down to highlight, and volume up to select).

Launched Batman Utility Belt.

Option 2 (no wipe).

Magically back on Stock.

Option 3 (root, FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS).

Magically back on Rooted Stock.

I'm fully Stock again with all my data intact.

Also to note: I didn't follow the instructions for Option 3.  I wanted to test.  I already had my SmartActions data, as I didn't choose the wipe data option.  I was still able to get root without having to open SmartActions app info and clearing the data.  It worked fine.

Hope my experience will help someone else feel comfortable about using this fantastic utility that I've used on numerous occasions.

I just scrolled through this topic, and I read that a few people successfully used this Utility while on ICS (4.0.4).

Thank you for your cooperation xCorps friend. Doubt is because this version of the system "6.16.215.xt912.verison.en.US" I see that this is correct here. "6.16.211.xt912.verison.en.US." If a fault occurs can to restore phone.

Correct, you can only go to Jellybean if you're coming from system version 6.16.211

However, with this utility, you can fastboot directly to Jellybean without having to do anything really.

Hello,

I have basic question, what is the different between this thread compare to this thread:

Please Login or Register to see this Hidden Content

?

My phone based on back cover is XT912 but when I got this phone it's already running with UMTS Spyder and worked fine.

When I use custom room (MIUI) it was fine also.

Untill I upgrade to JB 3 weeks ago, this phone doesn't work normal.

Below is some condition of my phone now

1. I can't boot to BP Tools the booting option my phone able to is only BP HW Diag, i can't charge, usb debug doesn't work and also data mobile

2. I can't restore my cid, it will throw me error invalid CG OTV (CG: cdrom) invalid SP data bla bla bla...

3. I tried flash with RSD lite use UMTS fastboot file, tried manual upgrade usith batch file got error during updating BP.. assert failed.

So is this tools is the solutions that I look so far?

This tool it's for the xt912, and that is the CDMA Verizon version of the Droid RAZR. When you say UMTS, it sounds like you have an xt910 GSM version...?

But. I'm just guessing and recommend waiting for someone a little more knowledgeable with the differences to respond here.

I agree with xCorps. Sounds like you do have a GSM phone in which case this wont work for you. Get the correct software and then the Motochopper exploit from Dan will work, we have that here.

Thank you for replying my question.

Sorry if I keep asking.. honestly I still can't find the satisfied answer although I've been googling for weeks..

How can I precisely identifying my phone is XT910 not XT912 ?

If I may refer to gsmarena.com on XT912's detail spec, stated it support for both GSM and CDMA.

I've been posted question thread in XDA but still can't find the solution of my phone's error.

So I hope I can find a way how to identify my phone? Then I can choose which way to unbrick my phone.

I tried many fastboot files with umts_spyder but nothing work, I haven't tried with xt912 files.
