- Windows Instructions

  • Extract .zip to its own folder on the Desktop.

- Mac & Linux Instructions

  • Extract the .zip to any folder you like, the /Downloads/ or /Desktop/ folder should work just fine.
  • Open a Terminal window. (On Mac: Applications > Utilities > Terminal)

  • Type the following code into the Terminal Windows, places where it says ***DRAG HERE*** are telling you to simply drag the folder there. For example: cd ***DRAG FOLDER HERE*** then press 'Enter' after each line.

You will be asked for your sudo password at least once in the Utility process, so make sure you followed the instructions to learn it.

Hey Matt,
Beautiful work as always.
One question though, If I'm on the Christmas JB Leak and already running SS 3.11 and a custom ROM in slot one, can I use this utility to get to the OTA JB, or must I use the 1.90 util and go back to stock first?
Again, thank you very much for all of your hard work. You totally rock!

Great job as usual Matt!!

These include the new JB fastboot files correct?? If people are on the Xmas leak are they able to use either option 1 or 2 to get to the OTA??

Also can those on Modified ICS just use this to go right to JB instead of 1.82 to go back to stock and taking the OTA??

Just looking for clarification so i can point people in the right direction

I have a few coworkers I can help out with this. I charge nothing, but make sure they KNOW whose work they benefit from!! I think I may have a few crack-flashing converts after this one! My 'factory' cord, though! ;)

Great Job! Worked like a champ.

I was coming from a mostly stock rooted ICS, some minor changes, but I wanted to start fresh so I did option 1. Followed it up with options 3, 4, and of course 5 :-)

So far so good. Thanks again!

Okay so far we have:

Successful from Xmas leak to OTA stock JB using Option 1 (Data wipe)

Successful from modified ICS to OTA stock JB using Option 1 (Data wipe)

Anyone else have any other successes or failures?? Please throw up a comment so we know all the ways we can successfully arrive on the OTA JB.

I don't include a cdt.bin so it "should" be able to install even on Gingerbread Razrs. Don't quote me on that though lol

Thanks for testing.

A horse of a slightly different color, but I also had success coming from a modified ICS (technically it was a custom 215 rom) using option 1. I've actually done it twice now because I decided to go back and clean up the internal memory as well.

I read and lurk when I can, never post, but I wanted to say thank you to Matt, Dhacker, and Hashcode!

So my mother took the ota without "really" meaning to, and in doing so, lost root. I tried option 3 first, and of course no go. So after option 1, option 3 worked flawlessly. Loss of data is a small price to pay. Besides she had texts messages from Christmas 2011. Time to wipe Mom. ;)

Running a Razr Maxx which was just updated to JB a few days ago. When I run the Utility it says at the top Does not work for Razr HD or Razr M. If Razr M means Razr Maxx then that would explain why the root isn't working. If this utility is intended to work on a Razr Maxx then I'm running into some trouble. I have USB debugging on and I have the battery saver smart task created.

I'm fairly technical and would be willing to try any recommended steps. Thank you for any help offered!

Am I correct in saying that RAZR blade doesn't work with the official JB OTA? Because i've tried it several times and it won't go past " daemon started successfully"
