I never took the Christmas leak. Do you think that it would benefit me to do a clean install of ICS via Matt's V1.82 first and then use Matt's V1.9 to go to Christmas leak and finally Christmas to OTA?

It cant hurt to do that, if you are having problems??

You are still on ICS??

I had issues from some non moto stuff install when I was on ICS, and I had to flash ICS, before I could do the Christmas Leak back in December.

I'm having problems rooting my phone using the utility below any ideas what I am doing wrong

.

This sounds exactly like something I read, looking for it but cant find yet. It said when trying to Root, make sure "ADB.EXE" is not running in the background and and hit ctrl/shift/esc to see the task list to see if it is running.

Plus I used the Root tool in Matt's 1.9 tool, and you run it with the phone booted up normal

EDIT - Found it

Yes I am still on ICS. I am rooted but haven't gone JB as I was waiting for OTA.

My phone tried to take the christmas leak/OTA but it failed I had frozen apps in Titanium Back Up and I am not certain if that is why the Christmas leak/OTA failed or not.
Thus I tought to do a clean ICS then go to JB

Not sure what's going on. I cant get anything to boot (other than fastboot)

After running 1.82, I reboot and get Andy with the spinning molecule thing in his middle but it goes black again

Your bricked because you used the 1.82 tool for ICS only.. use jbunbrick if still fail to load JB OTA from SD card, then used the 1.9 utility and you should be good to go

NOTE: to all, 1.82 is for ICS ONLY you cannot go back from any JB update to ICS or you will BRICK

Something is still wonky Satman. I ran junbrick and 1.9 util (option 1) and the update still wont take (error 7). Damn

And nothing will boot

Also, when I try to reboot after running 1.9, i get a device not recognized error on the laptop and the phone shows E:\ mount errors

Ok...so, here is how I finally (I hope and pray) got past the system errors I was having. I DL'd Matt's utility, fastbooted back to stock ICS, that stopped the system errors. I think somehow the internal storage was partitioned still from having installed Safestrap. I made sure SS was not active but I DIDN'T uninstall it from within the app but through the phones app uninstall. I think there must have been a internal partition it kept looking at and it was holding up the install. SO fastboot back to stock, am now updating all the way through via the OTA leaked a day or so ago. So (I'm hoping...) I am now part of the JB community! 8} ...brother, what a nightmare this install was. LOTS of detective work getting to this point....

That was kind of why I said be patient with it, take your time, start over if you have to, and keep clearing the cache too. Sounds like you are on your way to having it completed.

If you are still on ICS: do a fresh install of ICS via Matt's 1.82 Utility. Root and protect. Then go to Matt's 1.90 Utility and do the ICS to Christmas update. Boot confirm root via VooDoo OTA root keeper. Then do the Christmas to OTA update. Restore root with VooDoo. One last step: SQLite editor to disable WiFi teather check.

Happy Happy Happy!
