I rather liked the humor, tbh.  I didn't think that it detracted from the story at all.  I can see how some would be put off by it.  What you're missing, btw, is IX.  :)  It's intentional that you're left with a void.  That's the point of a 2nd movie in a trilogy.  Empire obviously is highly regarded as one of the best but if you go back and look, the reviews were NOT good.  People hated Empire at first.  That reveal at the end left audiences in total disbelief.  It's taken a lot of time for it to be considered the best of them all.  I think this movie is going to play out similarly.  In that years from now, after we've seen IX and how it all plays out, we'll look back and realize this was a good stepping stone to a (hopefully) brilliant conclusion.

I hope you're right. I thought the humor was too much.

Just watched Episode III.  Now THAT was a badass Star Wars movie.  Started out kind of slow but man did it deliver in the end.

That is by far the best of the sequels, yes.  I love how they filmed obi-wan vs darth vader.  They were both trained for the scenes separately and only once they started filming it did they allow them to do that scene together.  It worked.  Very well.  Yoda vs Sidious was fun, too.  Can't really deny Mace Windu's vaapad style and how powerful it really is.  Unfortunately, most Jedi that attempt it succumb to the dark side as a result.  WOOPS.  LOL

ok so Mark Hamill was the voice of Dobbu Scay, the drunk alien who thought BB-8 was a slot machine.  Here's some other interesting cameos, and a hint to Solo: A Star Wars Story that's coming out next year.

Alright, I'm going to start us on a new discussion for a little bit.  As I always do, I focus on the lightsabers in every movie.  Obviously I already said I loved the scene where Luke tosses Anakin/Luke/Rey's lightsaber over his shoulder.  That's one.  Then Luke heads into his little hut where we see a little necklace with a *RED KYBER CRYSTAL*.  That's right, the kyber crystal from the most infamous Sith lightsaber of them all...Darth Freaking Vader's.  Nice, huh?  However, what we do NOT see on Ach'to at all is a little green lightsaber.  One made with the kyber crystal from a lightsaber shown in Phantom Menace, in fact.  I'd love to know what happened to Luke's lightsaber after his little battle with Ben Solo at the Jedi training camp.  You will notice it's nowhere to be found after that scene.  Did he toss it away?  Lose it?  Lock it in the cellar for being bad?  LOL  It's simply missing.  (And yes, the crystal he used to make it was from Qui Gon Jinn's lightsaber)

That is very interesting, and I was wondering about that myself.  So who's saber was the one that Rey found at Maz Canata's that she tried to give back to Luke?

Anakin/Luke/Rey's.  Anakin made it after the clusterf*** on geonosis in AotC.  Obi-wan took it from Darth Vader in Revenge of the Sith and then gave it to Luke in A New Hope.  Luke lost it, and his hand, in Empire Strikes Back.  The theory is the emperor's guard retrieved it and Ben Solo had it when he was training to be a Jedi.  Maz somehow acquired it after that who in turn gave it to Rey, who rejected it, and then decided to give it to Finn, who used it albeit not very well, and ended up in Rey's hand because that's what the goddamn thing wanted all along.  :D  (Kyber crystals are said to be force sensitive and can choose an owner).  That's the story of Anakin/Luke/Rey's blue lightsaber.  Luke's green one we last saw when he was attempting the murder of his nephew/best student.  :D

I've been sad for the human race for a long time now.  Of course, though, I've experienced some of the same type of $#!+ when I was in elementary school here in Middle GA, though, so call me jaded.

Thing is, though, for every instance I can personally point to having to deal with the sheer stupidity of other people, I have just as many instances where people have proven me wrong and lived up to my standards of a decent human being.

If only there was a way to weed out the bad ones permanently.

And ultimately, that's the f***ing point of Star Wars.  The Jedi are meant to be selfless and helping people. The Sith are self serving asshats that care only for themselves.  In a world full of Siths, be a Jedi.
