It'd be in the zip but I don't think I did... You have to flash the 4.1.2 kernel to get the Wi-Fi and camera working

Coming from AOKP 4.2.2 what do I have to do to flash this because I factory reset 5 times then rebooted recovery did a system wipe data wipe all the good stuff. First tried without mounting then booted and got a static boot issue. Then wiped all over again and mounted this time and same thing happened. Came from CM10.1 working great, everything works but Tethering app does not give DNS addresses to devices. Easy fix with with changing DNS settings on device or computer that is connecting.
I'm wondering if anyone has been successful changing status bar icons to white. I tried Rom toolbox with little success

Okay having the same tethering problem as some others, tethering turns on device connects just no internet connection. Wiped data, cache, devlick several times even formatted system file because I couldn't find a setting to wipe it.
Flashed 2.0 then patch after reboot.
Camera and regular WiFi work fine


Still no go on tethering letting internet connect.
Kernel is 3.0.31 -ge491d6d hudsoncm@i39inxdroid48 #1 SMP PREEMPT Fri Mar 22 08:40:28 CDT 2013

Any other suggestions. Tethering worked perfect before ROM update with device just being rooted

Not sure but maybe the not being able to do a system wipe is what is messing me up. TWRP didn't install correctly so I had to use cwm for wipes and mounting and it also would not allow me to mount the SD card. I could mount everything else but that.

This looks like a great ROM but I real need the tethering back so any help you can give would be greatly appreciated

Not sure if its been mentioned yet, if it has forgive me, but I downloaded both versions and patches for them and after I install I get my normal boot image followed by a screen that just sits and flickers over and over (where the boot animation should be). Any thoughts?

I have never heard of this issue before. Maybe try flashing the stock 4.1 kernel and see if that helps?

Same problem here...  I ended up installing the Wifi Tether app that I have used forever on my Galaxy S3 and it works perfectly.

Does anyone still use this ROM?  I used it for several months & love it, but with the influx of ROMs that are always being posted now, it seems like some of the 'original' ROMs kind of went by the wayside after we were unable to unlock the bootloader for this device.

 

And am I wrong, or are the majority of these mods modifications of CM ROMs?

Most of them are modifications off straight AOSP not just CM. But yes a lot of the Roms out are going to be similar to CM because of the customization options available with open source.

This was a cool ROM based off stock so once we unlocked the focus was turned to more of the nexus type scene.

This ROM will still work with safestrap though. If you are unable to unlock. Other wise I would suggest unlocking and running the latest and greatest

That makes sense.  Thanks for such a clear & concise response.  I did absolutely love this ROM.  Right now I'm using ReVolt, and I like it really well, but FlyingJelly was just such a great ROM.  While I'm not an expert by any means on these sort of things (too much non-mobile technology at my job for me to have the desire to learn the ins & outs of this), I did unlock my device within a week of it being available, and have kept my phone rooted since motopocalypse was released.  

The other reason I decided to ask, is because it seems as if wireless tethering on these 4.3 ROMs do not seem to work no matter what type of app/modification I've made seem to work.  Although I'm doing some reading on some other sites and it seems there's just an issue with 4.3 & wireless tethering in general (although I realize this is the completely wrong thing to be talking about in this forum). 

 

Anyway, thanks again for the clarification!  Much appreciated!
