I received a soak test invite for the RAZR M. Anyone else? Does anyone know what changes it may have? Think it's 4.3?

My guess is its either 4.2 or an update for bug fixes and such.

From what I understand it's a new 4.1.2 build.
I'm starting to doubt that the M/HD are ever going to get an official 4.2

Very good Rom.
If I flash the acid version I must need be on the non stock kernel?
This works great. It disables internalSD.

Props:

Just came to spread some love, thanks for taking the time to develop an awesome ROM for the Razr M. Seems fast, and stable. I like that you integrated the stock features like the Circles widget and slide left for system settings menu. Cool boot animation and very fast startup. I also wanted to do my part and post step by step instructions from 2.0a install, to the 2.1a upgrade to save others some hassle as I learned through trial and error.

Suggestions:

It would be cool to see boot to recovery as an option when long pressing power button, SWYPE, Torch, and CPU sleeper added. (I have APKs if needed).

Bugs:

  • DO NOT FLASH THE BAMA THEMES IF YOU ARE USING AC!D!!!!!! Both of them assume you are using DSP manager and changes the settings and menu, and causes crashing. (Not sure if it effects the sound playback as I re-flashed to 2.1a to avoid this).
  • Seeder will not start and says I do not have root even after giving SU permissions.
  • Even after flashing update 2.1a, Verizon prompts me to update system version from 98.15.66.XT907.Verizon.US to 98.18.78.en.US. Obviously I didn't do it as I assume it would screw up the rom, but I only have option to keep delaying it for 12 hours, a little annoying if you want to use this as a daily driver. Dead Calm 1.4 doesn't do this.
  • After installing 2.1a and then setting up gmail, after update in gapps, gmail force closes. Seems to be fixed by removing and then reinstalling. Does not do this if running 2.0a and gmail.

Instructions:

  1. Download the ROM and the patch and put them on your phone.
  2. Reboot to recovery.
  3. MOUNT EVERYTHING.
  4. DO NOT DO A SYSTEM WIPE/RESTORE. I had problems doing this, even if I manually wiped them afterwards. Instead manually wipe \cache, \data, \system, and then the delvik cache.
  5. MOUNT EVERYTHING AGAIN. MANUALLY WIPE \cache, \data, \system, and then the delvik cache again (2x).
  6. MOUNT EVERYTHING.
  7. Install 2.0a from SD card.
  8. When it is finished installing, use the reboot system option in recovery, it will then prompt you to select YES to prevent factory restore on reboot. DO THIS.
  9. Boot ROM for first time. It takes a while to set up system on first boot, be patient and trust the force. (Shouldn't take longer than 2-3 minutes, if so follow steps 1-9 again).
  10. When Verizon setup runs, skip everything and set up later. If not, it will start downloading apps and mess up the patch and you will get force closes and app crashes. (It is ok to set up GPS settings and connect to Wifi but do nothing else).
  11. Reboot to recovery.
  12. MOUNT EVERYTHING!

  13. Install 2.1a patch from SD card.

  14. Reboot to system.

  15. Set up personal settings. (Make sure if you had super user, an ad blocker, or Seeder installed from a previous ROM it does not try to auto download again from GAPPS, it will screw up the current installs).

  16. Profit...

  17. (If you want the stock battery icon, download it from this thread, reboot to recovery, mount everything and install from SD card).

  18. Profit again...

For some strange reason I keep getting a boot loop. I have followed all the instructions in the thread above?

Re-do the steps I posted above. During one of my installations I got stuck at the loader screen. If you follow the instructions vebatim above, assuming your phone hardware is good, and you have root, an unlocked boot loader, and recovery, you shouldn't have issues. I have installed this rom a least 10 times experimenting. Sometimes you have to be patient and do it a couple of times, be sure you are wiping and mounting everything 2x.

**Edit**

You might try to do a factory reset and then manually format the foldes after that. It's possible that some of my issues were caused by something else, and that doing hte factory wipe helps. Let me know.
