so call me a dummy...but from what i read this would eliminate the subscription check for the wireless hotspot. that is not the case with me, flashed the rom , attempted to open a hotspot and still get the subscription check. what did i miss?

Did you do a clean install? I know the previous versions had it. Maybe try wiping the app data?

3.0.31-ge4916d6 hudsoncm@il93lnxdroid48 #1 SMP PREEMPT Fri Apr 5 08:47:43 CDT 2013

That is the 4.1.2 kernel everything should work did you try reflashing the ROM could be a bad download

well, im a newb still but, i rooted the phone, unlocked bootloader and uset fastboot(i think thats the term) to get twrp recovery on the phone. then booted to recovery, wiped system, davlik, and cache twice, and flashed the rom and patch. my kernel is different though..    3.0.31-ge491d6d hudsoncm@il93lnxdroid48#1 smp preempt fri mar 22 etcetc

as far as i can tell it did install ok, ive got the flyingjelly update/cpu settings tab etc in my settings menu. now im not sure about "clean install" because all my existing apps/folders and such from when i was stock are still exactly the same, nothing changed there.

ok flashed the new kernel(3.0.31-ge4916d6 hudsoncm@il93lnxdroid48 #1 SMP PREEMPT Fri Apr 5 08:47:43 CDT 2013)

..still no go on the hotspot, going to reflash the rom now to see if that does anything

edit: reflashed rom, made sure to check the "mount system" box before flashing the rom and again before the patch. hotspot still goes through the "checking subscription" thing. should I just do a factory wipe and restart from scratch?

enjoying this thing, nice to have a clean smooth phone!! but now im back with another problem...so the main point of doing this root/rom was to be able to use the hotspot feature w/out having to use a 3rd party app. well everything worked great, hotspot is functionig and i can connect devices to my phone via this connection. the problem is i have no internet connection through the wifi, the phone can still access the internet, but the devices connected to it via wifi cannot. this may not be a ROM issue though from what im reading. and info?

Tried this for the hell of it, but still no go.  Very strange that hotspot works technically but DNS forwarding seems to be the problem.  I can connect to my VPN to get around this problem for now but its just really strange.

OK definitely something funky with my XP installation.  Just got a new machine with Win7 and all is good.  I suspect IPv6 support which I added recently.  FYI, anyone else with this problem a simple work-around is to just add 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 as your DNS servers in the TCP/IP config for you network interface.

This is an awesome rom... There is no voice to text typing on the key board. Play store says voice search is installed but it really does not appear to be. I can not find it via root explorer. Anyone have an idea how to fix?

Also in the keyboard settings make sure voice is enabled!
