Thanks for the advice. I restored stock backup in SS. The bad news is stock won't boot. Good news is I'm still rooted and Rage still boots!

Do you know if the SS backup was a post OTA update backup?

I don't think so. :-( When I get a chance, I'll probably need to use Matt's utility to upgrade again.

If you used his utility to upgrade and then installed safestrap, then there is no doubt.  I had a half hope that it might just be a kernel error.  Sorry to hear it.

Yeah, my next step would be matt's utility to wipe her clean and build up from scratch.  Good luck!

Yeah, but the good news is that after using Matt's utility I just have to restore my Rage back up and I'm back in business. I was having sound issues (no notification, music, ringtone) but phone worked and BT worked. i figured it was a corrupt system file, so using Matt's utility should definitely fix that!

You're correct. I was in your shoes not too long ago. My stock side was messed up and wouldn't boot, but I was still using RAGE the whole time in Slot 1.

Go ahead and backup your RAGE, use Matt's Batman Utility Belt; and you'll be RAGE'ing after restoring your backup. I would even recommend cleaning up your internal and external storage while you're at it. I made a post in Matt's thread on the steps I made to clean up my storages while using the Utility Belt. :

I am running 2.7 and Titanium Backup Root (not pro, free version) does not work.  It gets about 12% done backing up system data + apps and it closes and restarts.  Is anyone else having this issue?

Is there a particular app that Titanium Backup freezes on while doing your batch backup? That's happened to me before, and I had to skip the backup of certain apps. I don't think that had anything to do with RAGE.

Tried installing 2.9, however, stuck on the "Please wait, this may take a few minutes screen"...anybody else have this problem/solution?

I've had the same problem with titanium backup in the past. Interestingly enough, since I bought the paid version it hasn't happened.
It's definitely not the ROM though....it's got to be an issue with the backup.

I had an issue doing a clean install of 2.9.  It was stalling at the initial setup and could get past it.  I would sit and think out it when i would click on start setup.  Found out if I created ROM Slot 1 and didn't do the the factory reset everything when smoothly.  Just thought I would post in case someone else ran into that.  My phone is probably just being a turd.  Awesome ROM though, I'm loving it with nova launcher.  Keep up the great work.

Anyone else having trouble with the sound settings going away and./or the phone just not ringing? I did a clean install per the instructions. I thought it might be an issue with Audio Manager Pro, so deleted it and rebooted. Still no joy.

 

Other than that issue, this is a great ROM.

What type of Sound settings are you giving you issues? I've had no issues.


Besides the occasional Bluetooth and media volumes not matching up, but that's a JellyBean thing I think.. They removed the option to have your sounds match your main volume. =/

My sounds disappeared also..... no ringtones, alarms, music, notifications, Nada. BT and phone calls were fine. Idk

I deleted the old Slot 1 then recreated and did all of the wipes, I got the issue every time.  So I deleted and recreated the slot again without the wipes and it worked like a charm.  This is not the first ROM my phone has done that too.  I was just wanting to post as an FYI for anyone else that has a phone like that.
