i cannot send/recieve mms at all. i have tried the *#*#4636#*#* -> airplane mode toggle. any ideas? i came from v2.5 to v2.7 to v2.8 to v2.9 without any wipes n im not positive when the issue started exactly. would a wipe help?

At least try wiping cache/dalvik cache in case there is any bad data hanging around. It won't make you lose your apps or anything, you'll just have 1 long boot time while it rebuilds the cache.

Sorry, I thought baked in met that it was under settings. My bad. :-)

Baked in just means it is built into the ROM. Having it on the menu is some additional ui work only and impacts only where you click the shortcut from. I never tried Acid with Rage but it worked fine with previous stock ROMs.

It might be that Audio Effects under Settings is cancelling out DSP. I never could get Acid or Beats to work with Pandora (Gmusic I'm not sure) on any ROM I've tried. I don't use Pandora from the Play Store I found a full broken version on a forum awhile back.

also, i forgot to mention, its not just mms thats not working, its all data. like facebook and reddit do not work unless im connected to wifi.

Sounds like you haven't upgraded to the .16 kernel.

This ROM is only for Jelly Bean Kernel 98.72.16 (most recent OTA update)

To get the right kernel either update your phone or use the Dual Boot Utility.

Do you want to upgrade your phone to the latest official OTA, or do you want to use the Dual Boot?  Completely different instructions for each.

 

OTA = reverting back to 100% stock phone (keeping root) and using your stock rom to receive the official Motorola/Verizon upgrade pushed out last month.

 

Dual Boot = keeping your stock rom as is and using a computer to switch your phone's kernel.  This is the easiest and quickest option, BUT you have to use a computer every time you want to switch back to an older rom and/or your stock rom slot.

The ROM wipes cache and Dalvik when it's flashed. Sounds like you should wipe and do a fresh install in a new ROM slot. I usually create a new slot, do all 4 wipes then install the ROM. Shouldn't have any issues with data.

I recommend you both start completely fresh using Matt's awesome Batman Utility Belt. Follow the instructions perfectly, and come back to install RAGE. I've done it a few times, and it works perfectly and easily.

fatmando2, nup; in fact, I stopped using a diff popular rom b/c it gave me just what you described & I haven't had the prob since…

I recreated the slot into which I was installing Rage2.8 & did wipes & per bdh's comments; I let the update script do the wiping for me w/2.9 & no such probs & it's been over a week & w/that other rom - it was happening like every other day…

my experience anyway

Give his advice a try. We recommend following BDH's instructions perfectly. If you do follow his instructions, then you should be like everyone else with a perfectly running RAGE ROM.

It will bring your Droid RAZR to life.
