Having a strange volume issue.  Every time a song begins (Google Play Music), the volume cranks all the way up, and I have to wait a second before I can turn it down.  At 4 am, I don't think the wife and kids want to wake up to Hatebreed  :p

Not sure if anyone else has had an issue with it.....

That's actually a common issue with DSP Manager and "Beats Audio" mods. Really not sure how to fix it. I know it doesn't happen with ROM but it's definitely common with DSP.

I meant to add that it was only DSP Manager and not a ROM issue. It's been a while since I used DSP.

Tapatalking from the pits of hell with my Slaytanic Rage machine!

Go to

Settings > About Phone

Scroll down to "Build number"

Press Repeatedly until you see  pop up that says you enabled Developer Options

Now go to the settings main menu

Scroll down and look for "Developer Options"

In there you will find USB Debugging :)

Hey, Brother. You can use whatever home screen you want. You can even uninstall one and keep the one you like.

Personally. Prior to using RAGE, I would only use the default "homescreen" and GoSMS; but I now only use Apex and the RAGE Messaging app. They look cooler, run smoother, and give a better overall experience.

Homescreen is the stock launcher.  Apex is a 3rd party launcher with MUCH more customization and flexibility... there are a handful of good choices for 3rd party launchers.  Just pick one (once) and play with it.  Then hit home and pick the other and play with it.  When you decide, hit home and pick the one you want (always).  If you change your mind later, you can go into Manage Apps and "clear defaults" on the launcher you chose before.

Major upsides to 3rd party launchers is themes and increased functionality.  Downside is loss of some widgets.

Personally. Prior to using RAGE, I would only use the default "homescreen" and GoSMS; but I now only use Apex and the RAGE Messaging app. They look cooler, run smoother, and give a better overall experience.

I was a fan of Apex until another ROM pushed Nova on me.  Very similar, but lighter.  And now that I tweaked it out just right, I have no reason to go back ;)

So can I "dirty" flash this over the current 2.8 and not have to wipe or reinstall all my apps?

Also, I noticed that if I use Goo Manager on my phone, it still downloads the 2.8 version.

Thanks!

I did (dirty) and no problems so far.  Heck, I went dirty from 2.7 to 2.8 and now again with 2.9.  Its a thing of beauty :D

I actually used to use Launcher Pro for a long time (even purchased it), but I ended up stuck on everything Motorola Stock for a while. Mainly due to every other ROM not being stable enough to maintain a separate launcher effectively enough for my tastes.

I feel like I'm able to do a lot more customizing with RAGE. Everything runs so much smoother.

Thanks for your input. I might give Nova a try. Does it allow changing of long pressing hard keys? (menu, homescreen, etc)

Thanks for your input. I might give Nova a try. Does it allow changing of long pressing hard keys? (menu, homescreen, etc)

It lets you change Home and long-press Menu, along with 9 gestures.

But IMO, if you like Apex and have it set just right... its not really worth the effort to switch.  Now, if you are constantly themeing and changing things up (like me)... go for it :D  I must have tried 8 different (popular) launchers now ... even the new Buzz, but I keep finding myself back on Nova.  *shrug*

Open Goo Manager and change the preferences to "Never". Just download the updates from this site.
